player from europe but the lag was unbearable on one of the servers, so i quit my subscription...plus i think my pc was struggling with the graphics.. i played eve and wow and everquest 2 perfectly fine on the same pc...so im not sure if it was lag or my pc performance.. anyways can anyone recommend a good game with good pve and solo content? |

just went back to eq2 myself, has been really fun on Nagafen server. |

-Player maxes all graphic options to ultra, player sees 10fps, player goes into hate mode, player says I can have ultra on WoW, if I can't on Aion, I wont play, Aion sucks!- -Player creates character on "popular server" is lvl 1 and experiences lag, player says ew Aion server sucks, Aion sucks period, player quits sub without trying other servers- I'd just like to point out that Wow's engine is old, and any current upper low to mid range graphics card can get away with almost near max settings, and people need to understand that some other games might require an upgrade to their card. Also that I dont play either WoW(anymore) or Aion so don't flame me for being a fanboy -_-. |

both very fun imo , I just went back to eq2 recently and I'm having alot of fun. The pvp in eq2 has level limits that vary per zone some zones is a 4 level window ,meaning you can attack people 4 levels lower and people 4 levels higher can attack you. Some zones are 8 or 10 levels even, and a few have no limit but its rare. Also no one under 10 can be attacked in pvp. AOC has no limit for pvp beyond the level when you can begin pvp if I remember correctly, but some pvp zones only allow certain level players for example white sands would be max level of 25. The combat in AOC is just awesome the fatalities are really great. Don't know if that helped but theres my 2 cents lol. You can pm me if you want to know more I'll gladly answer any questions about either game.GL |

good pve and good solo content: LOTR AoC will kill your comp if you are having trouble with Aion (what kind of lag do you get? rubberbanding or choppiness?rubberbanding is latency, choppiness is your PC) EQ2 is very very in depth, I was impressed with what your character can do and become, but the gameplay was boring and there were like 1231413 different spells by lvl 20, I wasn't really impressed. Not a bad game tho, just not for me. You could always consider giving Aion another run after the hype calms down and maybe you upgrade your pc. MMOs played: Horizons, Auto Assault, Ryzom, EVE, WAR, WoW, EQ2, DAoC, Aion, Requiem, Atlantica, DDO |

Performance depends so much on the game engine. I have an incredible that runs horribly in eq2 on max settings but yet can run full tilt on age of conan and lotro. Granted, i play eq2 anyways because it is fun. If you plan to play eq2, i would recommend any server besides Antonia Bayle, as it is far too high in population and it adds to people's distress. I can attest to the Guk server as it has a friendly population, enough people forming groups all the time and an active economy.

Life in the UK and running Aion fine on an Alienware desktop and a Dell XPS laptop - lag not an issue.

Wow talk about opposites here... well I quit FE during it'a beta and didn't look back. Started AION, got my toon 21, and I find myself a bit addicted... however, just to add, AION is just my "tide-me-over game". I'm really excited and waiting on TERA online. |

Im playing Eve and Eq2 mostly with part time devotion to LOTRO, Aion and Wow - love em all for same and different reasons and makes me equally mockable to most other players. If Aion is not your thing then I agree that LOTRO and EQ2 are excellent choices instead. To err is human....to play is divine |

I personally think Lotro has the best designed engine in an mmo. Very stable, beautful landscapes and lighting. Designed so that most pc's can handle higher graphics modes.
The only downside for me on lotro is that you can only kill so many bears and wolves before you start to consider /wrists |

Dude the OP wasn't dissing Aion. he was just stating that his comp couldn't handle it OR there was lag. Uhmm little FYI Aion does have lag, because there are alot of people playing it. And imo if you take the graphics out of AION (turn down yoru settings) you are just playing WoW.... So ease off. If at first the power of persuasion doesn’t work, use the persuasion of power. |

I got 29 on Monday, decided to take a full day break on Tuesday. It's Thursday, I haven't logged back in since then and I don't really feel like logging in still. The Abyss is the only thing that doesn't bore me to tears in Aion. The leveling makes me want to rip my eyes out. Want to buy a viable way to level through pvp. Or at least a less boring way to level. Anyways I've already canceled. |

Aion's performance was pretty bad all things considered. AoC is actually pretty easy on requirements now. While I was getting 40fps in Aion maxed, AoC spits out 80fps on HIGH. At launch though, AoC was ouchie. As for PvE game... CO, AoC, EQ2, LotRO, WoW all for the bill. Depends on your graphic and action preferences really. EQ2 though is a pig even five years later. |

Whether WOW's engine is old is irrelevant. If a player thinks that the graphics good, that is good enough. WOW's engine is old but the art direction is timeless and things still look good. That itself is a BIG competitive advantage. If Aion cannot make a un-demanding graphics engine and make their scenes look good, it has no ground to complain about its competition who can do so. |

I recomend EQ2. I recently went back and also play EQ1 (out of nostalgia). If you go the EQ2 route make sure you join Antonia Bayle server, one poster said it was crowded - they are retarded. If you join another server you will barely see anyone in the low level zones. I paid money to transfer from oasis server to AB, best decision I have made. Eq2 is very polished, and the player housing really immerses you in the game. The combat is not too hard, but play EQ1 some and you will appreciate it. DDO is nice also, it is all instances, so it is like you are in a smaller world - but the gameplay is fun, it is my third game to kick around.
