Revamping old Azeroth in Cataclysm is already something that will lead to huge sales for Blizzard and also a lot of fun for players. Over time, like anything in WoW, things will become repetitive, but Blizzard has managed to make even that enjoyable for millions of players.

I have stopped WoW for now due to AION but I will be definitely checking out Cataclysm to see a revamped world, doing SFK and DM on Heroic and level a goblin :)

WoW ain't dead but of course it gets harder and harder to surprise people.

For me Blizzard will have to do a lot more than revamp the old game world they will need to address the issue that made me give up WoW and that is a number of changes they made aimed at the younger and more casual gamer . When the challenge comes back to Warcraft so will I .

But it wont Blizzard have shown the way they are intending of taking the game and if they reverse it now your going to get loads of kiddies leaving . I actually saw one in DDO recently complaing that Blizzard had made leveling 60-80 harder so they could make more money .

sigh

Everyone wants to go to Heaven but no one wants to die!

Even though i am through playing W.O.W i dont think its on its last legs. When i left people were still in love with it and thought it was the greatest thing still. Blizzard still has new things on the horizon for W.O.W. W.OW is still cool to people who love instances and that can keep up with everyone without actually facing a challenge from the rest of the people playing W.O.W. Thats what has made the gmae so fun for kids,  It does not take the most strategy and thought in the world to compete for gear. I just felt it was too easy. I loved W.O.W at first and i will continue to say it but the thrill is gone now. I will also say that it will go on with many suscibers for years to come.

This thread made me laugh. :-)

WoW haters must admit one thing: whether they like it or not, WoW has already had 5 years of amazing, stunning success and constant population growth. And there's no reason why this trend should change in any foreseeable future.

Especially since most other MMO are just garbage.

The secret of a good life is to have the right loyalties and hold them in the right scale of values.

I can't believe there are still people stupid enough to say things like WOW is on it's last legs. News flash guys..i have said it before and  i will say it again WOW will not die for a long long time!.

Every time new games come out some jug heads start to spew rants about how this game is dying and not long ago it was Warhammer and AOC players. Where are they now? i wonder if they are still playing the game they said would destroy WOW even.

WOW will not die but that doesn't mean other games can't suceed and actually i think Aion at least is doing quite well for now.  Misinformation though like the openers is stupid and i play the game and i can tell you the server i play on has very healthy numbers. Talking about numbers ....OP if you can say this about WOW with it's numbers i hope you put the post on every game listed on the forums except the new ones......

I am a bit burn't out on WOW at the moment so i aren't a WOW fanboi by any means but it's here for a long time just stop talking crap. I am personally waiting for Biowares Star Wars MMO and i think it will rock from what i have seen. I don't care if it kills WOW or not i just want to play a game i enjoy. Maybe thats what you WOW haters should think about, do you really want the WOW players you spill vitriol on playing the game you like?

What are the points of these threads and what in them could be considered constructive? If you hate the game so much why come to these forums and then say obvious untruths? Why don't you go to the forums of a game you enjoy!

"Ultima Online is still going after 12 years...

Everquest is still going after 10 years...

Asheron's Call is still going after 10 years...

Anarchy Online is still going after 8 years...

The most popular MMO ever created...is not close to dying after just 5 years."

lol ya right go tell that the player in wow

it  went down for the open beta in aion

once open beta finished they went back to wow

to finish their time ,once their paid time finish

i wouldnt be surprised to see them go to aion

but since aion time card arent avail yet most wow

player cant join aion till ncsoft send  time card to

store ,yes some have them but the majority dont have ncsoft or aion time card

there will be double the amount of aion player once time card are avail

So a gametime card will double subscriptions? Correct me if i am wrong but most games after issue come with a month of game time already don't they? The issue of timecards would only take place if they decided to keep playing after that time ran out i would feel. Aion's numbers are more likely to double if the word of mouth from those playing is really good and not the card issue.

One thing you have to consider...before WoW, MMOs were a niche market, for a certain..."special" type of person.  I was never that big into MMOs prior to WoW, not because I thought the games were difficult or hard...but because I thought the people that played them were annoying losers.  MMOs are not, nor ever were, difficult...merely time consuming.  But  WoW made MMOs mainstream, and more palatable to the masses.  Many of those people would just as easily give up the genre altogether if they quit WoW.  They aren't addicted to the genre, they are addicted to WoW.  So thinking that if WoW died, all those people would just up and switch games...that's a laughable concept.

The only thing that can kill WoW is Blizz itself.

Blizz got too big for it's britches and decided that customer service was optional. That's why they lost me.

WoW was a whole different animal 2 years ago when I started playing I just got tired with it.

I doubt that it will end anytime soon, it is the most popular MMORPG in human history...

In time we will all find our niche on newer more specialized MMOs but Blizzard has enough income to keep this beast going for a long while now

But they wont have me as a subscriber anymore.

Very nicely said.I'm sick of people bashing wow because it's too cartonish - geez people, it was suposed to be same as warcraft 3, they wanted it to look like that :/

Anyhow @ op - bad troll is bad.
