The only true way to find out if you like a game is try it out for yourself.  I don't bother with ratings or other peoples opinions.  You know what they they about opinions.  Dont worry about ratings.  Whatever the game try for yourself and you be the judge.

The game overall is pretty solid and decent , the game engine is rock solid  ( it fells like i am playing devil may cry 4 maxed out ) , graphic etc .. it also  has allot of missing key elements from wow / lineage 2 and a few others.

I bought it 2 days ago and  i am already displeased  that i don't have more time to play it ... u get the point.

But ye i do have to agree whit most people that say " been there done that " it does have that kind of feel... but oh well , till diablo 3 ( O shako N gosu <3 ) ima stick whit aion.

Seriously folks. I don't understand NCSoft. Everyone knows the game surpassed the 400K players by now (those intelligent enough to use the tools).

Why do they still restrict it to 91K NA and 104 K EU players. (13 NA and 15 EU servers).

If you have 400K+ players .... you need 40 servers. (their number of players and servers from Aion Korea).

 

 

Because two of the least smartest things you can do is start out with too many servers or add servers during the first month. There's always a player surge at launch and it always subsides by day 30.

Who cares about raitings, as long as you are happy with the game and you have people to play with, that is all that should matter.

3000 ppl waiting on every server 3 hours on queue everyday waiting to play seem to disagree with you, but then again everyone is entitled to their opinion.

Well yeah, the game is to have fun, not for personal fulfillment and development for that I have my job and my goals everyday, if all of those ppl come home and have fun playing the game then it already filled its purpose as an entretainment tool.

You are a great example of the vocal minority I talked about where you will bash at anything mainstream for the sake of it, dumbdown or not its a game if ppl are playing they are obviously having fun and thats what a game should provide not an elaborate maths problem, if I want challenges I will actually do something that contributes towards my personal development not play a game. nerds gotta understand that games that allow average people to have lives while still being able to enjoy a game to its fullest isn't bad at all.

to be honest the game score on this site means very little when it comes to how good a game really is.

Rating here means nothing. A new game will always fly up the rating and then stable out to the latest spam campaign atm being top.

once people reach the lvl 20s, they realize this games content is basically ganking and grind.. and not really nothing else.

Nice graphics [ Asian stylish tho ] + constant ganking [ ganking someone else or beeing ganked ] + endless grindfest + low loot drop rates promoting farming and real cash tradings = Nice graphics + CRAP.

oh well.. i got into this boat.. still some days till the free month is over, doubt my opinion will change tho.

PS: Forgot the queues.. geez god.. when i turn this crap on to play it i always get 1hr or more till i can play the bloody game hehe.. i though at first it was insulting to anyones inteligence who is paying to see a queue and by the time you can actually play, after waiting and waiting, its time to do something else cos kids need somethign or wife or  work or whatever.. what a waste, but after reading several fanboys comments on this issue i now realize its a feature.. not really insulting.. its ment for the player to zen think and concentrate on the crap he/she is about to play.., in 1 hr or 2.. depending on the queues size ofc.

On the top voted tab released section it's #3, but on the most popular game tabe it's #1 on all sections.

Besides people are playing instead of being on the forums and bragging about it.

I have found many quests from 20 to 28 in Eltnan and Theobomos.

Only after 28 do the quests start to become few, but this is when you start dioing the abyss and the quests there as well as the instances to gain your level.

You also have to take into account that many people are holding off reviewing this game if they are casual players because they haven't leveled enough yet to see all of the content. Most of your good ratings and bad ratings right now are people who either just didn't like the game and didn't see all of the content, or people who are so hyped about it that they gave it a good rating, without seeing all the content.

Remember too that some of the free games, which IMO are inferior to this title and many other titles are actually rated high mainly because people really like free things. So ratings on this site are somewhat suspect. They should really seperate the free games and the P2P games as seperate classes considering that the few free games I have tried were not very good with the exception of Saga of Ryzom, which has limited free play, at least when I played it.

In short the ratings on this site really don't indicate whether or not you'll like a game very well.

The ratings on this site have never been worth the cyberspace they take up.

Warhammer is still 8.25

Aion is 8.35

Warhammer is very close to closing its doors or becoming F2P.  It's the worst disaster in MMO history, yet it is still a top ranked game.  I think this site is more about selling software than honestly rating games.

I don't think it is that polished at all.  For a year live with tons of players Aion has a shocking number of unpolished elements.  Of course, if you stop and realize that the lack of polish is just the nature of a game made for Korea then you get to the heart of the issue of this topic, that being Aion is just not a game for NA/Europe.

That being said, I think the title of the topic is a bit much, Aion is not at its 'end' and will likely do well enough to justify the launch in the US/Euro.  Heck, games like Conan and Warhammer even managed to draw folks to keep the lights on.  However, the idea that Aion is a 'big' title in US/Euro I think is over reaching and once the 'nothing new is out' effect blows over Aion will just be another also ran.  Besides, games like Aion with their gank or be ganked PvP system never do very well as in short order the folks who want more compelling PvP leave and all that is left is the gankers and since they only get off on fights where they have little resistance the lack of people to gank wears thin and they move on to corrupt another game.  When are DEVs going to realize that the whole 'crush to win' and 'no crying in the red circle' type PvP has little to no appeal?  People want PvP, even non consensual PvP, but they want it to be fair and not dominated by roaming ganks squads and griefers.

Other than personal experience, in most cases outside some extreme of a game that is terribly flawed and dysfunctional, there is no way to say if a game is good or not as that is a completely subjective judgment for each person.  However, ratings like those here and forums comments can help people get a sense of whether a game is something that might be up their ally.

Those ratings are one of the worst parameters to use.

The best idea you can get from a MMO is judging it at release, then 2 months later.

Easy, Mr reality hit the players.

WAR didn't start to drop until poeple hit T3, I guess hitting the place where you see how good the game truly is goes faster with Aion.

Don't get me wrong, I don't think Aion is better or worse than most other MMOs but the game got too hyped just like WAR.

LOTRO was never that much hyped. And it never sold as much initially as WAR and AION.

The game is really about GanknGrind with a few other things mixed in that doesnt mean its a bad game it just not for everyone. for alot of people tring to get away from WoW, to them it just feels like a asian WoW theme. But over all the game is ok and polished, just not for everyone.
