I just told my UK buddy about it, and he got the download in a flash. I have yet to get it, and I prefer the box copy - but will dl if nothing exists in town.

My question though, is that I like in the US and he lives in the UK - would we be able to play together on the same server?

I take it's stateside too then. Is there any serious lag issues for european or oceanic players?

It seems to depend. There's lots of people complaining about lag, but most UK players seem to report a fair connection speed. I do not experience more than 'regular' server lag myself (i.e. from the Netherlands).

Also, I would not count on that boxed copy; for the time being, they are only available in the US.

Well I am in the US, but I don't really expect there to be a copy since gamestop holds a minimal amount of the lesser known ones and once they go they are reluctant to order more until asked by a customer. I suspect that I will walk in on "the last one sold the day it came out, I really haven't got to ordering more yet".

Edit -it's not even at hte location yet; in transit.

So I went ahead and bought a key, but the download is 4 gigs and the updater says 1day 12 hours and I'm very inclinded to believe it. Been watching it for a good 40 minutes and it's at 1000 of 46000 files.

I am in the UK and getting insane FPS.  Around 50-150 with max settings.  It does drop to 15-20 in a packed town square or something but it jumps up quick once I get away from tight groups.  Then again I could take off max settings to!

I love the fact you dont have to decide between 20 servers and hope to get the right one.  At least here its busy and you feel like its a living world.  In WAR it was a freaking ghost town on the server I picked.

Many are reporting terrible problems. See here for example. Almost all of the Brits I came to the game with (around 40) have stopped playing until there are reports of improvement.

Myself, the game runs around 120fps in the open, and 30fps in towns, so my eyes don't discern any system lag. However, I often have to log off when the server lag goes upwards of 4 seconds, which makes combat quite impossible. I've waited for over a minute for the server to catch up at times though. I have already cancelled my subscription, but will happily renew if the server lag improves before it expires.

My buddy is having issues with the download as well atm, been freezing early in repeatedly. Any known reason for that?

As for me the DL finished and it's on a second pack now.

Apparently West Europe are having this lag-delay issue.

They're collecting information from all West European users on the official forum.

I'm from Belgium (West Europe :)) and as stated before, combat is almost impossible. I die several times because of the lag.

I already did my part and reported the problem, I hope they do whatever they have to do asap.

I'm in the UK as well (Virgin Cable user) , and have had no lag at all , my setup is a couple of years old, and this game is running brilliantly.

There seem to be a lot of people complaining of 'lag' issues in game, but thankfully not me, this game is my new home.

UK here, no bad lag really, but I have noticed other pc's warping, but not npc's at all. Not sure if its hackers, bad dual core coding or what?
