Yes, it's not the most advanced machines that are favored for any game's beta testing, but simply the widest variety of systems they can get.

I believe for the firs phase of beta they're going to be taking the higher end machines for the simple fact that they need to make sure the game works before they start testing machine performance. System Reqs will be the last thing they rest, right around the time of stress testing (normally right before open beta).

You might not get in with the first wave, but you could get in with the second, third, or open

That's not good for me, my 8800GTX was sent off to get a new one.  It went bad and so BFG was replacing it.  Right now I have a crappy 8600GT in its place.  I have a dxdiag from a few weeks back but I guess it will scan with my crappy card in.

Not always true. For Warhammer, my brother got in WELL before I did...he got in when you could only play Greenskins and Dwarfs...and his system wasn't even close to mine performance wise.

They will take all kinds of people to start with...ironing out system reqs and optimizing the game early is a big thing they can do early...just look at what happened with AoC.

It seems to work in both Chrome and Firefox for me. Or at least it looks the same is in explorer, it say it is closed and that I should check back later.

Yeah, for a game like this, I expect a set amount of a certain range of specs.  So they might take 1000 low end, 2000 medium, 3000 high end, or something like that.
