Eltnen is definitely crowded. I haven't seen any real pvp efforts yet in Eltnen by the other side (probably everyone is still trying to grind to 40). But hell yeah since the map has only 1 channel it's laggy as hell so I'm grinding the quests and get the hell out of there as fast as possible. Here's a tip tho, grind quest in the early morning US time when the map isn't as crowded. I simply harvest or craft in primetime US time as I have no desire in engage with the crowd.

Just group with other players if it's that bad on your server. I haven't had to do it for regular mobs but I've done it quite often for named ones to avoid the headache of trying to get the kill over everyone else. It is crowded as hell though, which does make it a pain if you would prefer to solo the things. 1.For god's sake mmo gamers, enough with the analogies. They're unnecessary and your comparisons are terrible, dissimilar, and illogical. 2.To posters feeling the need to state how f2p really isn't f2p: Players understand the concept. You aren't privy to some secret the rest are missing. You're embarrassing yourself. |

Everyone and their brother is playing in the same area right now. I remember when WoW came out, the zones were just as badly camped. It took at least twice as long to complete quests because of it. Grouping is your friend. Or, alternatively you can just come back after 3 weeks and the crowds will die down. True Neutral Half-Elf Ranger Mage |

There was a few weeks back when I asked if it was a GG game. What an idiot. |

500 players crammed into a small zone with limited mobs, pvp, lag, server issues, glitches is not a lot of fun. Period. The idea of playing 29 more levels this way has no appeal. This does not even cover all the disconects or other game issues. I cannot understand how any of you think pvp in this kind of enviroment is fun and then post here about how its not an issue? Its way too many players for the server to handle. The server I was on crapped out several times last night with server down messages. Its not a bad game... It just needed more servers and then merges later on if need be. As it is there will be alot of folks that will take one look at Eltnen and that will be it. Well I cancelled and its off to try something new.... |

No. Aion advertises itself as PvPvE.
There is no special stress on either. Perhaps you are right. Perhaps this is a pvp MMO. In that case, we were told a lie, no?

Hmm but bad lags??(last comment OP) I never had any lags and dont know anyone complaining about lags ingame.... I dunno what graphiccard you are using but all kinds of lag issues can be caused by the graphiccard too. Anyways Abyss is so fun so dont give up man :) |

Not being a dick either.. I don't even play Aion, but I thought I would point out that its not a problem that every new MMOG has. This month we saw the release of three new MMOGs and Aion is the ONLY one to have this problem. In Champions new channels are created on the fly as needed. This is what Aion should have done, but I think the number of channels is hard coded. The other new release, Fallen Earth, doesn't have this problem because the game world is large enough to handle crowding (unfortunately the servers have trouble with the load, but that is a different problem).
bs, channels in a pvp zone is a retarded concept. |

Not if the numbers are balanced.
To avoid overcrowding (and lag) there are two options: - 1) Instance the zone, with a decent population quota. 2) Limit the amount of people who can be in the zone.
Out of the two (1) would seem more logical. Afterall even instanced and based upon other MMO's you are still typically talking at the very least 100 people per channel. |

if your pc meets recommended specs and you have settings to recommended theres no lag in morheim even when a pvp zerg rolls you, hell we fought off a bigger group of higher players in the abyss and it never really lagged bad for me (3 ghz dual core 4 gigs of ram 64 bit vista 8800 640 mb gts from nvidia, older but still reliable rig ill get a bit of life out of her yet) if youre lagging with people around there are settings that reduce it LOD and whatnot. educate yourself before you complain rampantly please. |

I think the problem is more overcrowding than lag. I don't see many complaining about the latter and personally haven't experienced any. |
