Recently, MMORPG.com's Garrett Fuller caught up with Nexon's Min Kim to talk about the various games that the prolific F2P company has to offer.

Nexon remains one of the most interesting companies in the MMO space. Have not heard of them? Well, everyone has heard of MapleStory, and that game made Nexon what it is. The company continues to add fun free-to-play games to the MMO game space. With Mabinogi and Combat Arms already launched and Dungeon Fighter Online going into open beta, Nexon is starting to become the premier place for free to play MMOs. I spoke with Min Kim about bringing games over to the North American audience, what it is like to always work in the free to play area, and more importantly will we see free to play games with the depth of some AAA MMOs in the future.

Combat Arms, as a concept, is great.  It's a quick and fun online shooter.

The down side is that the client is so easily hacked, that it's rare to play a match where there isn't AT LEAST one cheater in the room.  Glitching, hacking, aim-botting is rampant, and Nexonseems powerless to stop it (or they just don't care).  Hell, to get Nexon to take a cheat report seriously, you have to record the cheating in progress with video, and submit it to Nexon.  If you were to do this for even 10% of the cheaters you encountered in one hour, you would spend 3 hours reporting them.

I have repeatedly reported the same player, and watched him reach 1LT rank, while I'm only at SFC(3) from doing it the honest way.  This guy has received no bans, and seemingly no suspensions.  I still log and play from time to time, but Nexon has definately lost any prospect of earning any of my money.

One positive note though...you can create your own "room" for a match and password protect it.  As you get friends to join up and play, you can invite them into a room and play to your hearts content without allowing the cheaters in.

Too bad they're doing things in the American release of DFO which makes the english version inferior to others, like doubling the required exp. Then they buttered it up with a bunch of PR crap about wanting to make a "unique game experience" and some crap about being fair to new players. They pitted the complaints as players who were veterans of other versions seeking advantages in the American one, which is ridiculous.

So yeah, they're milking DFO. Not gonna be an ideal experience.

They don't care, even WITH all the video evidence of cheating taking place (in mabi, CA, whatever)

Basiclly cheaters or not, people still buy stuff, they still make money, so they don't give a flying f**k about cheaters

Here we go again.  The only thing Nexon is interested in is making quick money.  There is no such thing as support in any of their games.  Players are free to do as they please with only a very rare intercession by their staff.

So no they can hardly be described as the "premier place for free to play MMOs".  Nice fabrication in an attempt to improve their shady reputation.

and don't forget the ip ban they placed on they games (well only ones I tried was mabinogi and combat arms), in combat arms I was pretty good there getting my ranks, reporting cheaters and all, then out of blue they ban all ips, so if you are not in canada NA you can't play.

they excuse? that is the funny thing, they say its because of the lag other country players have so to keep it fair just block they access, and the real motive everyone know, first they are thinking the people hacking was from the blocked country and also since pretty much people outside NA and canada can't buy nexon points (in a easy way) they just don't want to have the cost to keep the server to so much people.

in the end nexon like some others company can just burn I don't care even if they change now, I never will play any nexon game again.

FOR HONOR, FOR FREEDOM.... and for some money.
