Should -NEVER- pre-purchase, it's what's helped make so many crappy games out there, this habit people have of doing that. -Make- them produce a good, polished complete product!

As much as i like seeing naked women, i don't really wanna play fantasy porno online.

I think this is great and only adds to the realism, sucks that so many people out there can't handle someone not wearing clothes without throwing out pervert or feeling sickened by it. They are human models, we have all seen the stuff before. Get over it.

I disagree about the so-called 'sense of modesty'. What is so unnatural about our reproductive organs? Modesty is just getting plain old stupid these days. I can imagine fifty years from now how the 'moral pillars' of our society, hypocritical religious figures, have distorted our sense of reality so much that even our household pets will be clothed. Looking at all the moronic people who dress their dogs up, we are already heading in that direction.

However, I do not want to see breasts or vaginas/penises being flashed in my MMO of choice. I'm a grown man, I've seen my share of nudity and still continue to enjoy the naked human form in the right circumstances. Yet, I do not want to see some teen-controlled character teabag me with accurately modeled testicles after defeating my character in PvP. There is a place for everything, I do not think nudity has a part in MMOs, at least not for player controlled characters.

No, there is nothing unnatural about reproductive organs... or rape, murder, incest, protitution, infanticide, genocide - shall I go on? What's natural or unnatural is irrelevant.

Humanity and civilization distinguishes itself by being 'super-natural'; controlling it's own nature and environment, managing desires, drives and behaviours for the greater good. Not acting on instinct is exactly what separates us from the rest of the animal kingdom.

Modesty in ascending/advanced societies restates the sanctity and importance of genitalia and their role in reproduction. This teaches the members of such societies to value and respect the reproductive process as critical to the quality of their social environment and success as a group. A blasé attitude towards reproduction results in the 3rd world and ghettos.

Ummmm? No! Please gods no! the things that the 13 year olds emote are bad enough now, letting them actually show it is not a good thing. Case in point, Second Life.

Although one has to wonder do they use the same wang waggling technology that was used in "Watchmen"?

 Screens look nice as always but still dont see the point in the full nudity. Not a prude at all just dont see the purpose is all.

I'm with you on this one, I just can't see what value it adds to a fantasy MMO at all.

All that time spent lovingly crafting penises that could have been spent on other much more worthwhile things.

I have to say that what I took away from these screenshots was disappointment concerning the quality of the graphics.

Sadly, the pics from the alpha led me to believe it would look a little better than this. It would be interesting to know if this was the maximum quality, or if it was something less. At the very least, they need to add the foliage (perhaps a few well-placed fig leaves?). The textures really aren't doing it for me....

I don't know how the end graphics of the game are going to be but ppl don't judge the game by beta pictures especially considering you can't change the graphics setting as of yet and they haven't allowed us to see how the models are at full. Also they have not put speedtree 5.0 into the game yet which will make it look a lot better.

Unless you can disable nudity in the game, I'll have no part of MO for sure. I have kids and I don't want them walking in to see these types of thing in my "game". It doesn't make sense to be there in the first place, so it's a deal breaker for me.

You had to know that someone would try it.  Again it is a MMO, there is no way for the producers to prevent the 12 year old from playing the game and acting out his silly fantasies making a fool out of himself.

Just another reason why this game will implode on release.  This game is not hardcore, it is stupidcore.

I sure hope the penis has realistic flopping action.

Of course it's bad for them! The nude body is an ugly, horrible and scary thing - unlike murdering animals and wiping out entire races because you don't see eye to eye with them.

MO stands for "Mature Only" now it seems... and those who aren't mature enough to understand that nudity ISN'T worse than killing people are more than welcome to not play. (To be honest, it's best you don't come as even if you get over the nudity issue, I'm sure people will find some way to simulate necrophilia after they've taken everything and left your dead character naked... all the more reason to yet again roll a male).

Blood and gore is something you SHOULDN'T be doing in real life while sex is. So watching porn in video games is bad yes, while looking at blood & gore is fine.

What? Firstly that logic is so flawed it's quite scary. Secondly, if that's your idea of porn you have lived a sheltered life and have some serious net filter software going on there.

Ooooh, nudity! I've seen better. Though its kind of refreshing that you can actually strip someone to their bare skin after you clobber them on the high road. Talk about the glorious life of banditry!

That said, devs have said there will be basic clothing readily available for the more chaste. Now, if only they flag naked people grey (so you can kill them in towns without guards intervening) everything will be just fine. As soon as someone tries to dance naked on a table or in the street, use them as a target practice dummy.

Graphically wise, I think the beta looks just fine. Expectations are just too high these days - that why we are constantly getting games which have spent 100 million $ on graphics and 500$ on actual content. Personally I am more excited by the sandbox concept of the game, reminds me of Ultima. Plus the vistas are just incredible... I don't remember seeing a mountain I actually wanted to climb just for kicks in a MMO.

Also, keep in minds that mega-crisp graphics and MMO's don't mix, unless you like slideshows as soon as you actually try to interact (read: beat the crap out of) with more than three other players. MO caters to the PvP crowd, and we usually turn things down to get smooth framerate anyway.

I don't think it's too much to ask for a game that looks and plays well. I always ran AoC on high, and had no problems with framerate (and my computer is definitely mid-range at this point). Do I think that AoC is a great game? Not necessarily. I'd say it's good in some areas, but poorly implemented in others. What it does show, however, is that an mmorpg can look awesome. It just needs to be handled correctly. It's time for some hugely rich, successful company to do it right (Blizzard, I'm looking at you...)

How is it stupidcore, they are trying to make the game as realistic as possible and considering some of their races in the game nudity compliments that, indian tribes even now some wear barely anything and you can see tits on regular TV without an M rating or even R rating.

It's not the producers job to make sure a 12 year old doesn't play this game, its their parents.

You will never get that from Blizzard, they have their own art style that basically limits them from making a game thats looks close to AoC. Their future MMO will probably be another cartoon.

The logic is flawed and that is the point.  This is how society is now, sex and nudity is the devils work yet every time you turn on the news you see some guy beheaded in the streets or the gory scene of a mass murder.  Kids are aware how sexual activities work from the TV what they are not aware of are the repercussions.  The parents should be teaching them precautions instead of keeping it a dark secret.

I blame this whole stupid argument about "is Nudity right or not?" on Eve and her eating that damn apple.

People are taking the whole nudity totally out of proportion. Its not like people have an emote of /erection or something like that. This isn't sex sure some people will screw around with it and what not but the developer isn't designing it around sex. Even in WoW you find sex and its a fucking cartoon so I don't really get the arguement.

I personally would much rather show my children naked people than showing me decapitating someone. I mean comon I am pretty sure your kid has seen you naked more than once whats the problem with them seeing a naked computer model.
