There is a huge thread on this going on in the official forums general TOR section, almost 100 pages long.
Apparently, BW leaked the beta signup page onto their news feed for a few minutes and someone screencapped it. I reccommend checking it out. |

I'm glad you know the quality of the game before people can even signup for the beta...if so also tell me who will win every major sporting event for the next 12 months, I could use the money. Anywho, good to hear that the beta is coming about smoothly...can't wait to sign-up. Can someone make a post to this thread or make a new one when the signups are finally active (assumingly they don't mass email or something of the such). |

While I really want to believe this is true... there are a few things that point towards "no"... unless they're doing Alpha testing or something. My main reservations are due to the fact that they haven't released all the classes or planets, and not nearly enough history has been revealed. It just seems... odd that something like that would be whats going on when they've been so tight-lipped about it all. Furthermore, for them to be starting a beta test in October (or somewhere within the next month or so) would imply that there is roughly another 4-6 months before completion and launch (then again, we don't know how they're going to do things, they could be punctual or they could be like LA with SWG launch and postpone it a total of like a year). Iuno, for just as much as I'm hoping things go well, as has been discussed in other post, EA is a big factor and could make things worse by pushing the game too early, and I'm sure once Bioware says the word "Beta" that EA is going to be expecting things to start rolling out ASAP. Lets hope that the game is completed and fun instead of forced and unpolished. If this is true, it sucks for me as I'm in Tokyo til December.
Also, Bioware is a company known not to show their whole hand and keep some aspects of development quiet. I wouldn't be surprised if they had a small group of people to try out the already existing mechanics. |

That's a pretty bold statement considering no one outside of BioWare, and most definitely including You, has actually played the freaking Game...Not sure how you figured out it sucks based on the limited info we have all received...But great to hear your crystal ball is working as intended... |

I have been in the beta for nearly every MMO lanched in the past 6 years and they have all failed me. I have decided that I will NOT beta test SW:TOR because I want to to be good so bad.
32 days until Dragon Age: Origins then 4 months until Mass Effect 2 then only 6 or so months until TOR! Seen a million MMOs and I rocked them all. |
