I also confirm that after 7 hours straight, the game does not disconnect you, contrary to what the OP wants us to believe. Even 7hrs was an overkill for me, I wouldn't even think about playing 24hrs.

Perhaps the OP is confused by the message stating that "You've played for X amount of hours. Please take a break." It's just a message, it doesn't disconnect you.

I've gotten this before as well, the "30 minutes until disconnection" notice. I'm on a server that doesn't get any queues so I don't feel bad about this, but anytime I'm not playing, I'll setup my private shop. Then later, I'll play some different characters. Even logging into a different character doesn't reset the 24 hour timer. You have to log out completely.

At hour 23:30, you will get a message warning you that it will log you out in the next 30 mins and to take a break. IMO 24 hours and you can always bypass the queue but being in a party when you were log out.

I can verify this, it kicks you after 24 hours playing, I did so and got kicked out but logged in back. Cases are minor and it is there to help with queues, plus, its only a little kick, you log back in skipping the queues anyways.

Alright, this is apparently what happened...

My wife is somehow able to stay logged in or was the other night without being kicked. I'm guessing she was logged in for over 24 hours. The fact remains, she came back, started playing and a server message came up saying, you will be disconnected in 30 minutes, please take a break. This message showed up despite the fact she was playing at the time.

So yes, it was an extremely long period of time...

Oh, don't ask me how she didn't get booted, cause all I know is she was on auto follow behind me, got stuck on a mailbox and stayed there for over a day, lol.

LOL, umm, what? That's just crazy. How about I play the fucking game I'm paying for as long as I wish, and "take a break" when I wish? I don't need a game kicking me out and telling me when I should take a break. Booting me from the game when I'm NOT AFK is completely unacceptable.

The more I hear about this game, the less appealing it sounds.

... wow... you know how utterly pathetic that makes you look? Not only did you not even bother reading the post you quoted, you basically just insulted a game that is kicking you off after playing for an amount of time that IS NOT HEALTHY!.

I have also hit 6-7 hours and not been booted or bothered by anything but the hourly warning message to take a break.

24 hours... See, I don't blame NCSoft at all. If you're really and truly playing for 24 hours straight (which I think is pretty physically impossible except for a very rare few souls), you need to stop at that point to eat and sleep - its a health risk, and people have really died.

Otherwise, you're botting, following, or otherwise cheating the system and adding to the queue for other players.

This might be a leftover from Korea.

I get a warning every hour I think, but so far I haven't been kicked off.  At first it bugged me, but now I appreciate it.  When I get the message I think about it and sometimes I agree and log off to do something else, like clean house, shopping etc.

I played for 8 hours one day, and never got kicked off.

Yeah. I think all NCSoft games have the "You have been playing for X hours, and should take a break".

It is kinda funny to see how far you can get into a game before those hourly announcements actually makes you think you should stop.

Yes you get logged off after 25 hours... we found this out day after launch while using the shops. So... getting logged off after a 25 hour play session is a damn good thing. Keep you from going into renal failure.

However, there is no queue, its treated just like a crash, and you can instantly log back in. So quit your bitching.

The time-frame in which you get kicked out of the game is 25 hours.

So you don't mind people having control over something you pay for then? Sorry to hear that. I myself prefer to drive my car when and where I want, without some car dealer driving up behind me, cutting me off and slamming on his brakes, just to get out of his car and tell me I've been driving too long.

Sorry, you can keep your governed lifestyle, I think I'm old enough to know whats unhealthy and what isn't. Especially since I'm a medic in the US Army... which is by far the worse job when it comes to lack of sleep.

Just listen to yourself, man. You claim to be a medic and then try to argue that it isn't unhealthy to play a videogame for 25hrs straight.

Mr. Medic, please answer this one question:

Is it healthy to sit and play a videogame for 24 hours straight?

Its not control... you get kicked out and forced to relog at 25 hours of gameplay. The number of people that experience this (even the hard core gamers like myself) are most likely less than a hundredth of a percent.

If you get your panties in a bunch cause you cant play 26 hours straight then IMO your a nut bag, and when someone who plays 130 hours a week calls you a nutbag, then you got problems.

Sorry you are in such desperate need to rebel against authority that you find this a problem

Wait, you're upset that it boots you after 24 hours of playing, and you're whining about "Control"... yet they control the horizontal and they control the vertical... they control how much damage you do, what gear you can wear, what rules you have to play by, what you cannot do such as bot, gold farm for RMT, harass, etc... yet this 24 hour limit is "Too much control!"

A medic in the US army doesn't sit in one spot 24 hours straight (at least I hope not).

I'm not saying I play over 24 hours straight on a regular basis, but if I chose to do so, I think I should be able to since I am paying for the time playing the game. The game is a entertainment service and thats it and nowhere in the FAQ or on the box did NCSoft say they would disconnect people simply because that account has been active for 24+ hours.

As for my medical opinion, it's probably not a good idea to stay up for 24+ hours on a regular basis, but you won't get dimensia just from doing it once in a while. Ask soldiers overseas how many times they get 24-96 hour operations where 2-4 hours of sleep a night is sometimes a blessing.

I'm enjoying Aion, so this isn't me trying to troll up an argument. I'm just stating facts like I have in the past which is apparently upsetting people, lol. How long my account is active is my business, not yours and certainly not NCSofts. Theres no gaming regulation that says I can't let someone else use my account, now is there?

I wish I had the free time to play long enough to get booted for playing too long.   However, none of my friends in game have said such, and a few of them play ALL the time.  so not sure on your angle here, but -- whateva.

Which MMOs do you play where you can stay connected for 25 hours straight? There's a few but they certainly aren't the norm. What is the source of this particular expectation?

Quite obviously it is unhealthy to play a video game for 24 hours straight, but I don't need the fucking game to tell me this, or remind me every hour.

I find it laughable that people actually tolerate this.

The first game i remember seeing this kind of thing was Metal Gear Solid.

It would happen at 3am...and Solid Snake would call you on your communication device and start telling you about how people would hit their lowest efficiency level at 3 am.

I thought it was quite funny, since for all he knew I was working nights..

What is there to tolerate? Is there some intrusive alarm that goes off or some game-stopping aspect to it that I'm missing?

well this is an interseting mechanic. and imo, if you are playing for 24 hours straight, you need to go to sleep.
