We all KNOW that stores stock brand new merchandise that are expected to move more then its fair share of units on the bottom shelf. It hasn't been so bad on my server (Ariel) .. i mean it has.. but not as bad as you would expect considering its launch week... ever mmo is going to be compared to WoW.. even Champion's Online was in the chats... *shrug* Playing: Aion |

Off topic much? I think what you're saying is that you can't -believe- in both. A person can certainly keep both as options until his/her mind is made up... if ever. On topic, I'm sure the chat will calm down after a month or two but don't expect it to go away completely.

the chat wont go away as long as AION does well and wow fanboys feel threatened that it will in someway steal players away from their real-life fantasy world they live in. |

Every MMO out there has brought something new to the table and HAS NOT BEEN A WoW CLONE... every mmo has the same elements, listed earlier in this forum and am not going to list them again, WoW just has nothing to make it different or unique the discription of an MMO is WoW if you take everythign WoW has that is the discription of an MMO... here are examples of things that make MMO's different and unique an new... AoC(2008)- Pushed MMO Graphics and inovative Battle system. CoH(2004)- Brought the idea of Super Heroes to the MMO world. DDO(2006)- the private instance questing system with a central social area. EQ&EQ2- pushed MMO's to a new Level and Created a new standard in 1999, 5 years before world of warcrafts release in 2004 FFXI(2003)- Sub jobbing and swithcing jobs on the fly. FLYFF(2005)- F2P Item shop Model inovation. Guild Wars(2005)- PVP driven game with a F2P Model. LoTRO(2007)- MMO based off a beloved book. Vangaurd(2007)- Inovative crafting System and Parley card battle system... and a million different glitches... WoW(2004)- Huge ad Budget which made millions of Non-gamers(AKA noobs) join the MMO world... other then that not much inovation there...
and finally Aion(2009)- with the new World Style Lore and Fantasy based Weapons and Armour. even the wings has been done before with Perfect world.
i know i didnt list all the MMO's and their key features that set them apart and what made them great but these are examples of things that have made the MMO world what it is today and why WoW did not Set the Bar or do anything other then make MMO's Main stream which is not an easy thing to do when 10 years ago geeks were the minority the ones getting picked on at school, now we rule the world.

The issue is that [3. Find Group] channel is the only server-wide one and gets used for gab. They need a [Eylos/Azmo] chat that people can use so that everyone else can just mute it. The retard factor is high, but since there is no fixing that you can only find ways to divert pressure (as most of it is just hot air). If you ask me, this common mentality known as "wowtard" being picked up is a byproduct of a person's ability to pick up traits from "friends". When these friends are faceless strangers and using the communication tool that is the internet, you start to see everyone connecting and picking up traits - and therefore the vast majority is now the same boring, annoying and childish person. The Tutty thing is over with, and if I have to hear "hurrrrr" one more time, from anybody (and this goes on in other MMO's too), I swear... I'm all for chat channels but it seems to be getting worse and worse in mmos far as what goes on in these channels. The companies don't help matters any either because they really do a pisspoor job having gms oversee the channels until it gets out of hand to a point they have to intervene due to how many complaints they receive.

Another Forum turned troll bait. WoW is cool in its own way. AION is cool in its own way. As AION is new what you are getting is what every new game that has been hyped up to finally launch gets. TROLL Flu. Do Not Panic. This strange TROLL Flu will naturally clear itself up in a month or so. Until then try to resist the urge to beat your computer and find a like minded legion/guild or group of friends to weather this out with. |

I played WoW for 3 years and I thought the community was fine, maybe it's the aion community your having a problem with. From what I see on this forum and in aion beta is that aion has a bad community when compared to WoW community because it''s all the ppl who are jealous of WoW's success. |
