What's the comment I always see about Second Life? That it's mostly cyber sex, either furries or some other sort of fetish.

Now Second Life is moving all the smut to it's own Island.

I suppose it's an improvement, but SL still doesn't hold much attraction for me, since there is no game. However, if you are looking for online 3d cyber sex, second life looks pretty well developed from a simple google images of sex second life.

Pretty much hits the nail on the head with this comment.

SL = Lame IMO!

More power to those that like it.  Different strokes for different folks and all that.....

Its a good roleplaying environment, if you're into tabletop stuff. Pretty much an open development sandbox, and people have scripted pretty decent dice, HUDs, and combat systems for it. They restrict almost no scripts, rendered objects, or environment tweaks. Its hard to sum up, but they basically just give you an engine and server space to work with and you have to be dedicated enough to build your own game. I enjoy it from time to time when I'm running D&D games with far-away friends, but I'm not sure I would classify it as a MMO.

Of course, half the people just use it as a glorified chat room, hence the excessive amounts of smut.

Interesting...  It seems to hold some attraction for you to bring a URL from another site to this one.

What was it the Queen said in Hamlet?...  "Methinks the lady doth protest too much." (Yes, I know it is a misquote.)

Such an arbitrary mandatory division of the user base seems counterproductive to the philosophy of Second Life, but very well....

Asking for help on the internet is like asking a swarm of bees why they are stinging you!

I don't think it will devide the user base. I think it will relocate it. Everyone will move to the X rated area and leave the rest of the game an empty wasteland full of random junk that nobody ever looks at anymore (which is what a pretty large majority of the game already looked like).

Each man must for himself alone decide what is right and what is wrong, which course is patriotic and which isn't. You cannot shirk this and be a man. To decide against your conviction is to be an unqualified and inexcusable traitor, both to yourself and to your country, let men label you as they may. ~Mark Twain
