We are bringing the servers down at 6:00AM PST (more), September 25th, for maintenance. The purpose of this downtime is to tweak the way Private Stores work. A timer of 30 minutes will be implemented to prevent these shops from being abused as a means to prevent disconnection and alleviate queues.

The maintenance is expected to run no longer than 1 hour.

Man I think that 30 minute thing kinda sucks, yeah I know there is a AH but IDK if you have unlimited space to sell thing. I remember that in FFXI you could only sell 7 or so things in the AH at a time so I sold a lot of stuff in my bazaar. I left my game running while I slept many times and while I was at work and im sure a lot of people did to and never ran into ques.

Yeah this game is a lot more popular but still they should figure out a better way. Setting up a shop for 30 minutes seems pointless to me. Maybe they should make it so you can have a mobile shop like it was in FFXI you could buy from someone at any point. Or at least make it like an hour or 2 then get disconnected but I guess if it gets rid of ques some people will be happy.

It is very likely that they'll tweak the shops town back to a bigger number once the server population settles down a bit. For now that 30mins limit is meant to deter people from using shops as something else than intended.

This should help alleviate some of those long server queues, hopefully.

I think it's temporary...anyway there has been too much abuse of Private Store.But I don`t think it will lessen the queue all that much.

Well, my server Telemachus didn't have queues since the second day of the head start. I'm guess I'm lucky for picking that particular server. I'm talking queues in EU prime time, I don't have time to login any other time unfortunately.

1st day = 1.5hrs

2nd day = 5mins

3rd day = 4 mins

4th day = 2mins

5th day = no queue

That's my experience so far.

I was going to post on this subject anyhow, so this is a great opportunity. First let me commend NCSoft for a great move. Maybe a hour would be better, maybe that will change later when things mellow out. BUT my point was if the IDIOTS, and yes i said IDIOTS, who are sitting AFK by the hundreds on every server. Would use their head for something but a hatrack would realize THEY are the reason for que's now. The que's have gotten small enough that its only those last few hundred IDIOTS who are keeping people in que. I am rarely running into que's today, usually none at all. So if they would stop a minute and think they may realize if they just logged out, there would be no que. And the next time they wanted to log on? Wow they could just log straight in.

I no longer see que's as a problem personally. Problem I see now is gold farmers expanding RAPIDLY. One the first day, to more than a dozen whispering me in a hour alone. Ban these morons, prosecute the websites they work for. Since it is illegal to shoot the bastards, at least put them out of business. I do not want to see these scum ruin one more game. I am reporting every single one who whispers me. It has to stop. And if other people would do the same, we may be able to save Aion from these scum. Well thats my 2 cents. :) Your mileage may vary...hehe.

Great move by NC I often leave my shop up for a couple of hours and I dont mind it at all.

It can always be changed back to the way it is after those initial 3 months are over and we see wether its retaining everyone, losing subs or word of mouth is selling more.

This was the best of a bad situation considering gearing into main release today.

Only thing I dont agree with is the timing seriously 2PM in EU when many may have just picked the game up from a store etc what a absolute let down those guys will have when they find the server come down 1 hr after they are on.
