OP is delusional.  Go to any WoW server right now and ask 100 players if they even heard of Aion and I guarantee you that at least 70% will say no.

This is why I camped best buy early yesterday morning.  (if you call 2 mins before it opens - camping!) lol

I was the first one in the store and when I got the the video game section they only had 2 Collector's Edition and like 6 regular copies.  I grabbed the CE, and took off knowing the rest of those boxes would be gone before closing time.

You'll see a drop but not like AOC/WAR. Why? This game isn't broken, plain and simple. AoC had stability issues and WAR was just broken from the get go. This game has actually done most of it's advertising via word of mouth. They really haven't done much out of that, maybe more within past months but nothing like AoC and especially WAR.

  It's actually the vogue to disparage WoW right now, since most "people" have played it and are tired of it.

Aye exactly, just wait a month after the one month of free time expires, and see how many stays and how many resubb. Then they can start looking to add aditional servers if needed.

prob. 80% will resub... they should add more servers, whats the harm in adding atleast 5?

AION will cotinue to gain subs I think .... as long as NC Soft straitens up and flies right. The game is polished and good. the issues are mostly non game issues. Installing, wait time, downloading, information bases, and so on

Ok, yes WoW has been very very successful, but the fact that you put Beatles and WoW in the same sentence is assinine.  MMO games like UO would be the Beatles, something that others formed and molded concepts from.  WoW, at best would be Green Day, nothing against Green Day by the way.  They took concepts from other games and created a very outreaching game that is accessable and easy for most gamers to play.  WoW has accomplished great things but in no way did they help father the gaming world, they just set a new level to achieve.

Sorry, but I just don't buy that.  Wtih +/- 4 million subs in Asia and it being hugely popular here already I doubt it 70% of people never heard of it.  Best Buy just had a 1/4 page spread of Aion this Sunday in its insert in my newspaper.  These subs have to come from somewhere was my point.  They don't just materialize.  SOME GAME lost these subs and I was pointing out that WoW was the largest culprit I am sure.  So anyone who throws around 11 million subs from WoW is just flat out lying.

Most come from WAR, AoC, Lineage and those that played UO and Daoc in my opinion.

AOC and WAR didn't lose subs for no reason - they had major problems.  If Aion loses subs like that, it'll probably because they refused to add enough servers.

This is a funny rant seeing as how, i constantly see Aion fanboi's (such as yourself) constantly throwing out cheap shots at WoW, its pretty pathetic you and others would need to keep attacking another game.  

I've been reading these forums for awhile now and i constantly see people talking smack about Warcraft, even before some WoW fanboi runs in to defend it.  Perhaps people should stop being hypocrites?

While i'm sure WoW lost subs to this game, Aion is still more focused on PVP, and a lot of WoW players are so called carebears.  That being said i think more subs came from WAR,AOC, and other MMO's. imo.

Oh there will be more servers. They are about to realize what they have on thier hand just might be a 1000# gorilla instead of the little 400# gorilla that is World of Warcraft.
