If i am not incorrect, Q3 stands for the third quarter of the fiscal year and the third quarter ends september 30, which is 7 days away. So finally, if im correct, IT WILL RELEASE.

 mmorpg.com has the wrong date it's suppose to release late Q4 of this year so sometime in december.  At least thats what they're hoping for.

The game isn't ready to be released soon.  They would have announced it long ago if they had a release date officially planned.  Q3 was what they were aiming for but I doubt it will be this year even.

They have always aimed for Q4.

When the Q4 annoucement came around they had a plan for a release in October ( no specific date ).    However, I bet it is probably gonna be pushed back for a December release.  

Their only other option would be to open an NA server or offer more spots on the current beta server to extend their development time.  

 Pro tip: Dont rely on mmorpg.com for release date information.

This gane need at least 1 more year of hard work to be ready to launch..and still will not be a very full of features game...

That's not true.  Their original goal was "summer" which falls in Q3.  Yeah, though, it will be late Q4 or maybe early 2010, no later than Q2 I'd say.

I'm a current tester of this game and already got in some trouble for saying stuff I shouldn't about another game so all I'm going to say is that if it was to get released anytime this year it would be a mistake as there is still alot of work to be done. This is only what I think and i'm sure others who are currently testing as well as the development team know what i'm talking about. I can't wait til it is ready though but that time is not anytime soon in my opinion.

I wont say shit about the state of the game all I will say is that this game wont be released in '09 and I doubt we will see it before Q3 of 2010.

Star Vault keeps us SOOOOOOOO uninformed about stuff.  Its really irritating.  Me spending money doesn't entitle me to anything but the game but seriously they are just shitting all over us.

Yaaa...apperently. I guess i dont have a problem waiting for this game, even if it does come in 10'. But im sure people, especially those who have already pre-ordered, are none too happy about the delays. But if the game is as unfinished and unstable as the testers have said, it seems to me that this game will just lose customers the longer it delays release, but i think releasing an unfinished game; ineviteabaly to be shunned by the community and thrown in with the likes of DF would be worse. So i think they are doing the smart thing by delaying release, no matter how agonizing it may be. Just my thoughts on the matter.

It would seem that their own FAQ got it wrong as well because it says there:

"Q: When will it be released?
A: During summer 2009"

But judging from their complete silence as of yet I would say this game probably wont be released even in 2009. Q1 2010 is my guess.

We will have a very much better idea of the true state of development come end of October.

The game in its current state isn't ready for release but the devs know that and have said as much, but they also maintain that a lot of the future features are ready to implement but can't be atm for stability issues. Wether you believe them or not is down to the individual, but for me they haven't promised anything (of importance) yet and failed to deliver.

From what i have read from the website /forums and compare them to the current beta, i would probably say its 70% done. There are a ton of stuff they have to work on, right now the world feels like a sandbox without sand.

Every single piece of news I've heard about this game points to it getting delayed into 2010. It hardly functions. And at this point, even 70% isn't enough. This close to "lauch" it should be 95% done.

Also, Darkfall is not a gank fest, it is a sandbox game. Just because it allows you to PvP doesn't mean thats the only thing to do.

On what planet? They promised a Spring release, then they promised a summer release, then they realized the game really isn't even ready for beta, now they promise a winter release. It'll get delayed again from what i hear.
