Anyone know if there some site showing an approximate of how many people are playing in the servers? I'd like to return but I don't want to come back and find myself in an empty server.

Nope. FFXIAH.com is the closest thing there is, but the servers can fluctuate so much that you can't really tell what the population is like. That and it only monitors the Jeuno AH, so there is no way of knowing how starting cities are. If you happen to go to my server Kujata, let me know.

Still deciding between spending some time in aion till FFXIV or going back to FFXI. Does the server your in has a good population?

Found this: Show populations on server but not sure if they are updated. Also server transfer is not cheap :S I don't even remember on which one is mine lol

That's just characters registered on FFXIAH.com, and isn't a good way to judge the population of a server. Mine has a decent population. If you're just reactivating your old character, you'd probably be fine on your server I'd say.

Aion till XIV might be a better bet, unless you left yourself pretty well off when you left...though thats just my opp :) Try the Siren server? They managed to defend the astral forever & a day...seems they are probably pretty active. www.massively.com/tag/defense/ I was on Slyph then transferred (way back when it was first opened) to Asura. Seems your likely to find a good amount of folks around, regardless of the server & with level sync...it's not too bad if there aren't many anywho :) It's just a long way up... |

On gamespot I saw a recent thread stating that odin is the most populated server and is blocked from creating new characters :S Well I dont remember exactly my levels apart of thf 37 and sam on 50+ I was using sam/thf as combo but many keep on saying to use war as sub, its not that I dont want suggestions but when the kick you from team because you dont want to change to war sub job is lame... [Edit] Bleh damn play.com posted today my aion pre order was still on the fence between playing it or coming back on here let's see what will happen now.
