Congrats, you've all been baited. Silly trolls. |

With the Aussie dollar falling, my subscription just jumped 50% . ANd I pay two cause my partner plays as well. Raising the price would just make competing MMO's look more appealing to many. At a time when the servers are experiencing falling numbers, this would NOT be a good idea |

I think that MMO's should all be 9.99 there is no reason for them to charge more, even with server costs. Storage, and bandwith is so much cheaper these days! |

Hell, at $19.95 even the last 2 people playing that crappy game would leave lol |

Originally posted by Supernerd Ummm... charging 19.95 for what a game WILL offer? Seriously? I'm not going to (again) get into the promises Funcom has made as to what they WILL offer in the future. But I assure you... the laughter would be heard all over the world should you suggest that paying FC more NOW will yield more, later. This is a company that can't even get their PATCHER to work right. Or are you saying I need to pay them 5 bucks more so that it will? The only 2 games that could even CONSIDER raising their price is EVE and WOW. You may not think WOW has alot to offer, but there are some 12 million people who disagree(I'm not one of them, but still...). If a game is fun and it can get exposure it will be successful. If it's successful, it won't NEED to charge more for its service. FC needs to put up or shut up. Offer a free trial and advert it here and elsewhere. If their game is fun, people will join and it will be successful. If it isn't, it will be SWG and AO rolled into one. A game you can't GIVE away. |

So did we revive this post that started in 2007... Just to remember when more people had more money? Being able to choose the skills you want to use, offers much less variety than pre-made class based systems. -Future Game Developer |

At the moment, I know of 3 people in our guild alone that this week didnt re-sub because $15.99 converted to $AU is too much to pay for a bugged game with limited lvl 80 content. I move to REDUCE the price until player base improves, and everything promised at release is in the game! |

The OP of this very old thread was an idiot...sorry, but I had to say it. Anyway....I am currently dishing out like $30 a month because I play AoC and LotRO, but I am probably leaving one shortly (probably AoC for a little bit) because I will be moving to EVE. I'm not poor, but I'm not rich. I can't afford $45 a month for games, regardless how good they are. I really enjoy both AoC and LotRO, but I would quit both in a minute if sub prices went up to $20 a month. PLAYING:DDO PLAYED:FFXI, LotRO, AoC, WAR Rohan, Mabinogi. WAITING FOR: Final Fantasy XIV, Eathrise, Star Wars:TOR, TERA... |

Bwains....bwains..... Necro. Just goes to show you what people think at release differs down the road.
And maybe the original poster got 3 king size snickers? --- I really don't think the difference between 15 and 20 makes a difference in the long run. It just causes the end user to "justify" the 20 versus the other 15 dollar games out there. |
