Hi there.

Couples of questions I have before buying Aion later.

WIll I have any problems playing Aion if I use a Vista 64 bit OS?

And Do I need to buy a prepaid card for my first month, or does it come with the retail client?

No, it runs great on Vista and Windows 7, 32 bit or 64 bit.

Buying the retail box includes thirty days of play (same with a digital purchase).

Enjoy, message me if you get it and need some help getting starting in game.  My characters are on Marchutan.

Let me put it this way, there is nothing in Aion or Vista or WIndows 7 that will cause you trouble playing.  That being said, computers being vulnerable to all sorts of things from bad drivers to bad software already on them you can never say that a specific one will not have an issue.  Many of the problems folks have had are related to GameGuard which has been dropped so now that GG is no longer part of the equation I think the technical issues with Aion are relatively limited.

If you have a Windows PC in good shape (I think you know what I mean by good shape - not all messed up from bad software or bad drivers and whatnot) then I think you would be fine with Aion.  Worst case scenario, if you have trouble and this kind of thing and it happens to you a lot then perhaps it is time for a reinstall of Windows.  Sometimes through normal wear and tear (mostly from all the applications and misc stuff not part of Windows) a Windows system will get mucked up over time and doing a reinstall is a good way to get it back to that pristine original condition.  Just backup your important data first, make certain you have the drivers you need  (which are often on the supplied disks that came with your system) then reinstall and you should be good to play most any game relative to your hardware's capabilities.  Also, if you bought an OEM system (Dell, HP, etc) then consider going through and removing a lot of the non WIndows software they install (often called crapware or bloatware),  Even a good system can get bogged down sometimes with all the junk software and trials they put on those retail computers.

I had zero issues with vista 64 as far as Aion or any other game goes. I had some minor issues with vista 32, but were easily resolved. The trick is to use a non-pirated operating system, keep your system and drivers updated and have a decent, non-pirated protection (anti-virus, firewall etc.).

Overall I'm very happy with vista, so I don't see myself returning to winXP. I'm also going to move to win 7 when they are out.

Yea, no issues here whatsoever using Vista 64bit.
