I haven't even gotten to play it yet.

For several months now I've tried to upload my dx xml file.  Saved it as .xml, it's an xml file and it still gives me the same exact error from several months ago.  Furthermore, just today I received *two* e-mails with two different beta keys.  I tried entering one beta key, got an error.  I then tried to enter another beta key, and I got a message that subscription is active.  However, I go to beta where it says I download and it takes me right to that f'n dxdialog upload that doesn't work still.

I'm sorry, I'm not buying a game that already has this types of problems.  I was looking forward to this since I've followed some of David Allen's games since Demise.  However, this is just irritating as hell so I'm just going to save the headache and skip this one altogether.

Dethnoble, please PM me a phone number and time I can call, and I will personally make sure you are taken care of and get up and running with Alganon.

I have tried uploading my XML file and for some reason it is not working.  Not sure if it is a Vista issue or not.

mi in beta.. dl client no problems.. run game no problems.. but .. cant play disconnects all the time

Now this was unexpected.  I posted here and on the main Alganon forums and I got a reply at both places with David Allen himself replying here and private messaging with an offer to help personally.  It seems they got the things straightened out very quickly and that has definately caused me to do a 180 on this.

I haven't gotten to try out the game yet because I just started the download.  However, even after I start playing I won't be able to speak about the actual game itself until I'm sure that no NDA is in place or until the NDA is lifted.

Anyways, I'm eager to get testing this thing and I'm hoping it's something I'll want to buy upon release!

NOTE: If you hop back into this thread again, DA, you really need to also do an open beta for everyone to try it out.  It'll be a hard sell unless people are able to try the game before they buy it.  Unless of course you have a free trial upon launch.

Have had no odd problems starting a d/l myself. Just started it up tonite...lookin forward to being a tester for this game.

As for the whole 'Open Beta'  discussion...I think that it is not needed. A free trial once the game is released should be good enouph. We all know beta is for testing. And so often we see on these forums people who enter an imperfect 'Beta' test and then continue to bash the game left right and center.

Perhaps we can look forward to a game that will be tested decently, rather than using the whole beta process for free trials.

I've also had trouble with my beta key.  I replied to my beta email letting them know what I ran into, and I got a reply within a half hour from the Community Manager Tork that they'll look into it, and then soon after, a note that he'd manually activated my account and gave me the link to download.

I was able to download and install on Vista with no problems, though from the rapid responses here and in my own mailbox, I get the impression that I'd have no trouble getting help if I did.

I've had only the "standard" client issues expected in a Beta phase -- occasional crashing that seriously is no worse than I've experienced in mid/late-phase betas for both game and business software.  They had some troubles with the 9/18 beta keys to be sure, but I've also seen them jump right at the problem to get it working again.

I wish they were as prompt in answering their e-mail when it comes to forum registration problems.

I'll give the free trial a shot once they put PVP in.

I do recall having some problems once I did get the beta download. The file should be named AlganonSetup_0.8.8.1885.exe.part and when it is completed should be 1.56 GB (1,677,412,784 bytes) approxamately. For me it wouldn't open so i changed the extention to .exe and it worked.

well, it's nice to see all these beta keys being handed out right and left

had no problems sending off my dx diag (again) - at least as far as i could tell from my end - seemed to go smoothly

still no beta invite - doesn't look like it is gonna happen

Forums have been under migration, there were posts about this on the Alganon forums, yes there were issues with forum registrations for awhile, they should all be sorted now that the new forums are up so I'd suggest retrying now.

As for the OP, yes you'd be under NDA. Alganon is still in CB atm (Had a new patch and wipe a few days ago tho) so you cant discuss game features outside of the beta forums over there.

Hope you enjoy your time in Alganon and make use of the '/bug feature as you need !!

Wow. Whine more kid. We don't want you in the game if you're going to whine about not getting in the beta because you have errors uploading your dxdiag. WHO CARES. I never had a problem. I don't know anyone else who had a problem.

No luck there and still no answer to my e-mail either. They don't want me over there.

 Read past the 1st post before posting yourself..

 He had a change of heart, and i'd also say he started testing before you did. The whole uploading error is likely working now because people like this guy already tested it and got it fixed. So you should be thanking him instead of pointlessly arguing that everything worked fine for you.

If you don't want any depth to your gameplay. It's apples and oranges. Think long term advancement, character development with depth, you know, that kind of stuff.

At least some people are getting beta keys through the website application, I am interrested to give this game a shot. I uploaded all my information a month ago and have heard nothing back.

Could be worse.  You could have received a beta invitation a month or so ago like I did which was shortly followed by an email saying, "made you look"

Some sort of email screw up they said.

Been in the first beta phase and never had any of the problems some of you are talking about, well I did once tell the truth but it was firefox that was stopping me updating it, can say its alot like WoW but I am injoying it (unlike WoW itself) but I put that down to it being in beta.
