what was the satisfaction from the game compared to the books/movies? was it received well by the fans of lord of the rings or most people felt it didn't give the epic feeling it deserves?

World of Warcraft is a proof that MMORPG quality should affect schedule/budget and not the other way around.

Ignore the movies.  LOTRO is based on the Books that Tolkien wrote and not just his lord of the rings trilogy. Turbine have rights to most of his books and personally i love the immersion into his world.

I couldn't agree more. I have read the books many times and LOTRO does really a excellent job in recreating Middle-Earth, starting from the lush graphics and the details in the Lore.

In fact ..you have to be a Tolkin fan to stand the grinds they have put in. ;) j/k

But yes the enviroment graphics are good, i just would love there would be a bigger

variety of mobs.. it has the strong feeling you kill the same things over and over and over.

The *oh sheesh this crow could kill all the starter city* kinda feeling.imho.

In the end this game is lots of  fun to play in a good kin(guild) as the most exciting dungeons and

book quests need a  group.

Ps. the avatars look and move wierd...

That a good point Speiderbob. Initially I thought it would be better to have more variety of mobs in each area. However, now that I have played for a while I like it as it is. The placement and variety of mobs is more realistic and therefore more immersive.

My 2 cents.
