It's hard to imagine the game without Tatooine, although I could see why they wouldn't use it.  To set it apart from SWG, Nar Hutta or whatever ti's called might be the next best thing.  I was looking at swtor.com and unlike the classes page, there are no empty slots for planets so have they all been announced?  I was hoping that, even though SWG did it, Tatooine would be in the game.  Other planets I'd like to see are Geonosis, Hoth, or that planet from Revenge of the Sith that looks like a giant mushroom jungle or something (during the Order 66 sequence).  I know SWG used a lot of the well known planets already.

If you're going to stick it out there, don't be afraid if you get it cut off.

Indeed there are no open spots like there are for classes.  However, I wouldn't be suprised if they weren't done yet with planets.  They could just add a planet without having an open space like classes.  5 planets just don't seem like enough for an MMO, but I suppose it depends on the size of each planet.

Well, IRL is only 1 planet and it takes a few hours to go around in a flying mount.

I won the AoC Competition

They're most certainly not done releasing the planets. Tattooine is an absolute must in my opinion. There are several more that I'd love to see too. Dantoinne, the Rakatan world from KOTOR, Manaan, and Kashyyyk. These should all be playable areas. While I would wonder whether they can implement a sandbox style and give us fully detailed undisclosure to every planet, I just don't think they will. But I'll take whatever I can get!

I thought I remembered them saying that every planet from the Star Wars movies would be included in the game. If this is true, they have several more to go at least...

I would be very surprised if Dantooine/Tatooine are not in the game. I imagine Dantooine will be very important to the Jedi storyline since it was the previous home of the Jedi council. I imagine Tatooine will probably be important to the Smuggler/Bounty Hunter storylines as well.

Didn't Yavin 4 have a Dark Jedi Temple on it? I need to recheck the lore... I know the Rebel base at the end of A New Hope was there but I'm sure there was something else there too. I think one of the books (post Return of the Jedi) made reference to it also.

EDIT: Found the reference here.

Not only that, but Tat is one of the most popular worlds in Star Wars lore.

They're doing a great job, you're just mad this game is looking better then a SWG 2 possibly could have.

They are doing a great job.  I was a Pre-CU SWG player and on some levels miss those day's.  But they are gone, I am over it and you should look at getting over it.  Since the beginning they (BW/LA) have said they are NOT making SWG two, its been clear as day since they announced this game.  Speak for yourself, you obviously have a selective memory about how unpolished and buggy the game (SWG) was.  I for one do not want that back and I know several other pre-cu SWG players that feel the same way.  Let it go, move on it is only coming back as an EMU.

You might want to go and do some homework before you spout off in here about how the game is going to be and how the play is.  You obviously have no clue, and while you are entitled to your opinion I would hope it is based of fact and not wild conjecture which is all you are spouting at this point.

I really dig these graphics. And who are you to assume that we ALL wanted a "game like swg pre-cu"? No thanks. I don't want another sandbox version. And BW? You're going to knock on one of the greatest names in the industry? It's not all single player. It just allows for people to go it alone if they choose, in order to cater to the masses.

[Q.]     Why should you want to buy this game?

[A]       It's a BioWare game. It's already worth it just to purchase the game and at LEAST try it for a month.

[Q]      And what IS it that BW has done?

[A]      They've created an in-depth, immersive, compelling, story-driven MMO based on the Old Republic of Star Wars - the best part of the Star Wars lore in many people's eyes.

[Q[      What's SWG again?

[A]       Sadly, it's yesterday's MMO-torn-asunder, today's tragic lesson of woes and once upon a times lost in a sea of developmental deadends. SWG is a cautionary tale of what-not-to-dos, nothing more.

While I miss the game, I do not wish for a repeat of such complexity.
