GameGuard definitely drove me crazy. So I'm voting for 3 points over the highest which is 10. :)

I will not start, because they are still clinging to GG unfortunately. They will install GameGuard on your PC when they see fit and you can do nothing to prevent it when you are subscribed. I don't want that again.

Honestly i happy its gone cause frankly it was useless. However, It has always been mad easy to stop the errors 99% of the time all you have to do is turn off virus protection and BAM it works perfectly. People really are not very smart.

I'd have to say 1/10 if you had to turn off ANY of your virus and/or firewall protections.  They are there for a reason, not to bring down each time you want to play your game ;)

Who games with AV running anyway? I have been gaming for a long time and have never run AV in the background while gaming. I have never been infected due to a game. No wonder people complain about frame rate issues, lag, horrible load times and whatnot. The real-time scanner is going nuts.

those who have important data on their computer will run AV 24/7, those who have only porn or crap in their computer( for example you). wont be bother about av or firewall.

MikeB, with all due respect, they didn't drop GG for good.  Please read the original post.  Why are you reporting it like it's something that it is not.  It just isn't in at launch because they KNOW it will be the kiss of death for them as they try to launch next week.  GG will be back, it's not a matter of if, but when.

Yes, I'm thrilled it's gone, for now.

Saying that, when GG is put back in I have the feeling these forums are going to go SuperNova.

Fear not fanbois, we are not trolls, let's take off your tin foil hat and learn what VAPORWARE is:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vaporware

"Vaporware is a term used to describe a software or hardware product that is announced by a developer well in advance of release, but which then fails to emerge after having well exceeded the period of development time that was initially claimed or would normally be expected for the development cycle of a similar product."

Head over to aionsource. They stated they would only put GG back in-game IF they can get it to work correctly with the product. If they can't, you can bet they will look towards other options or find a in-house way to handle the cheating/hack issues. I can almost bet that GG will not be coming back.

It is a gamble I am not willing to take. But I am willing to bet that their standard for approving GameGuard will not meet my standards.

I'm glad they're trying to find something that works.  Gameguard was driving me nuts with its errors.

Never had a problem with GG.

I'm just afraid it will cause more problems for people with more cheaters and botters being able to get in easier.

Hope they figure out some type of shield for it. People bitch about the little things too much, but I can agree that if it turns into anything like L2 in the beginning until they find a GG replacement or Fix, too many including myself will be turned off.

I hated walking into a city with a million bots selling shit.

Edit- on the scale. I'm a 4. Just because i don't want it turned into a botter hell. But like the fact it lets more legit people play with less problems.

"Did GameGuard drive you nuts? If so, on a scale of 1-10 with seven being the highest, how happy are you NCsoft has dropped the tech? Let us know in the comments!"

No GameGuard did not drive me nuts, in fact I never have any problem with any type of protection program ever as I see people all over the place having problems with these type of programs, perhaps I might take to much care of my computer that these type of programs always work or atleast never give me any type of trouble. I see people complain about SecureRom which again never gave me any problems, we see people complain about Steam which again never gave me any type of trouble or games for windows live etc....etc...

just came from a friend of mine and noticed he too has many problems with programs like GameGuard, but his conclusion was that the blame lays with himself due to him using lots of cracked software like games he downloaded, he is even using a cracked version of Windows. Now I am not saying that this will always be the cause but I feel he is right that it can be one of the things that prevents people from using this type of software on the computer to work properly.

Only problem was kapersky reporting on start up, but anything is better than nothing and all the botting and cheating on the horizon will see even more leave if they don't replace or fix it. Why they have not just made there own like warden with blizzard god only knows.

Current - Lotro, SwG

Offline - WaR, Aoc, EvE, CoV, Champions, Aion, Vanguard, Guildwars, EQ2, WoW(omg 3.5yr)

I spent hours and hours trying to get around Gameguard while installing Aion on my computer... I had to disable this, disable that, reconfigure this, error after error after error.  It was incredibly frustrating, and I'm 100% glad it's gone!

Good thing, GG was bricking Google Chrome and I was having to use IE while in the game :(. It would suck when I was browsing before launching the game, and then unable to browse once the game was going. Then I would have to move everything I was in over to IE.

I'd say the annoyance level was 6/10.

I am thinking of buying Aion but have not as of yet. I am more likely to now with this decision. My question is though, how does GG get put on your computer in the first place? Does it come with the install CD? Is it only downloaded and installed when you start up the game?

If I buy the CD or get the game from an online digital source such as Steam....will I wind up having to remove GG even though it's not being used?
