The update many of you have been waiting for, Issue 16: Power Spectrum, has been deployed to live servers today! This latest update brings a long, long requested feature to City of Heroes fans, namely, the ability to customize the color of ones powers. "Unarmed" melee users will also be able to customize their powers with entirely new alternate animations, and powersets like Spines will be able to choose from a variety of different spine textures such as metal or slate.

In addition to the power customization options, a number of new powersets have been proliferated with the release of Issue 16, the Mission Architect has seen some improvements, a mission difficulty slider has been added, and finally a new feature that allows for easier sidekicking entitled "Super Sidekicking" has been introduced.

The following powerset proliferation options are now available with the launch of Issue 16:

• Claws

Archetype - Controllers

• Cold Domination

Archetype - Corruptors

• Archery
• Trick Arrow

Archetype - Defenders

• Assault Rifle

I reactivated my CoX account a week ago after havn't played for a few months, so I could play some days before I16 came out.. but now i has come out I can't play, because my computer crashed shortly after, possibly a problem with my cpu-cooler
Damn.. I had looked forward to this patch, and now it's out I can't play. Not Fair :(

Hmm,now I have to decide weather to make a claws brute or a archery corruptor.
And I have 20 toons to customize! Aaahh!!

I have been playing around with this all day.  I can't find enough time in the day to go through and customize all my toons.  Yes I am an alt-a-holic.

good stuff . probly one of their best patchs /issues .

Now, do I get a couple of days free to try all this new color??

Unfortunately the AE issues in this patch killed the game. There are hardly any people on anymore! =(

Yep,pretty much every issue they put out kills the game.Damn miracle it's been around for 4 years or so.

Champions is really going to hurt City of Heroes.

It's a shame because I believe City of Heroes is the better game.

Earlier this year I revisited the game and found nobody in PI - everbody was at the AE's. So, when you all say the game's empty, did you look for people at the AE's? In Freedom or Virtue?? The community was big and tight, they wouldn't vanish so quickly, thus they must be somewhere in-game.

It's a shame because I believe City of Heroes is the better game.

I think both can stand out in their own ways, one example being combat. They have different approachs  to things, totally different art styles. Its still the beginning for Champions so its hard to say, but despite the bumps it had at launch i think it has a chance at least. Ill be curious to see how it progresses by the end of the year. CoX was def a great game and i poored hours into costume designs and many slots for hordes of alts.  Games like CO and CoX are alt fiends dreams/worst nightmares ahaha
