For both servers that I tried, Lumiel and Zikel the Asmodian faction was locked out, so you could only make Elyos. Looks like the Asmodians are the New Alliance (the more popular race). Maybe it's just the pre-orders. |

I never really worked out why Asmodians are so popular given the lore. If Dick Cheney played Aion, he would be an Asmodian. |

No. I think more people prefer not to look like a fairy though. |

Yeah but Asmodians look like emos. We can win really can we. |

How do you form a guild in aion, need full group or just a high enough level |

I picked Asmodians Due to my understanding of things. We were being torn apart by a race that wanted power and destruction. Why would we make peace with that? I really don't care who killed the ambassador, we should of killed the balaur when the world was . Elyos are blind and weak to the cause. I would rather sacrifice them then give in to such a weak idea of peace with there history with us as a whole. |

Perhaps you misinterpeted the lore, because from the Asmodian side the Elyos opened the door so the Balaur could walk right in and spring their trap. It is also their view that upon first meeting the Elyos took the high society view and frowned down upon the more feral looking Asmodians. Just because something looks different doesn't mean it's bad or good for that matter. An Angel make wear black robes as easily as they could white. |

Trust me - it looks like an emo. Probably got a scar on it eh? There's even a graveyard near the newbie Asmo area isn't there? :P |

Elyos are basically pacifists/appeasers (depending on your point of view) and Asmodians are basically aggressors/realists (depending on your point of view). Don't really understand your comment about Angels. Do you read a lot of Sandman by any chance? :P |

Honestly, this says it all (no offense to Kriister). A very small percentage of players (very small) will choose their race based on lore reasonings. The rest will base it on looks of the character, and a handful for the environment they like most. In WoW, if you wanted an "attractive" character, you played alliance. It was hardly a choice of lore. In Aion, either race can be attractive, and most characters will be. However, for the asmos, they can try and look badass at the same time. I've said it a million times, but honestly. How many of you teenagers out there are shooting for the pretty, kind, gentle race? I'd bet the vast majority will aim for asmos out of insecurity alone. Still others will just have a preference towards the darker looks. Nothing wrong with it either way, but it's very obvious what's going to be most popular if you apply common sense, rather than logic. "The power of accurate observation is commonly called cynicism by those who have not got it."

The angel in black basically is an angel of god who came down to lead the people of earth but his robes were stolen by a demon and replaced with black robes, the angel thinking nothing of this donned the robes and set out to lead the people but was of course confronted by the demon wearing white robes and played upon the fears of the crowd of the symbolism of the black robes and that the angel was in fact a false prophet, etc. and the people of course believed him. Don't know if I can agree with Elyos being appeasers when alot of the lore leads one to believe that some of their views of Asmodians is as much for their appearances and way of life as it is anything else, believing themselves to be blessed while the Asmodians cursed. Very superficial stuff IMO. |

i made both 2 different servers, eventho i like asmodian starting area more, aswell the main city of asmodians i liked the feeling more than being in sanctum. still i was only playing beta for couple of days , things might change when i play more. edit : have to say also that asmodian male running style looks very retarted, and yea its all about the looks i suppose at the end of the day most people chose sides.
