That's subjective. Names like Toshiba, Honda, and Costco are all pretty lame. It'll get worse when people get names like Cloud and Sephiroth and all that mainstream stuff.

Well, I'm going for Pikachu, but I don't think anyone really wants it since it is a really noobish name. But, ya never know, if I think about it,  I'm sure 100 other players on my server are thinking about it. But, I mean, we all know Cloud, Sephiroth, Tidus, and Walmart are gonna be taken up pretty soon. What about Anakin, or....Darthvader....?

I think it's strange that the open - btea went pretty smooth, even with the massive amounts of log-ins, but this is just unbearable :O

Yup, still can't log into the servers, it's really messed up...but, I'm sure that within 20 to 30 minutes we'll be able to.

True, I was able to reserve my name pretty easily in the open beta. But, for some reason I'm just scared to death right now.

I agree that this is pretty sad. I am among those that came home on my lunch break to get my characters made, and have been trying for 30 minutes to log in without success. I think this is just bad business. They set a time a week ago for pre-select, and no one has been able to log in to make their characters yet, and of course, no word on anything on their website either.

The patcher is going to be down for another 30 minutes...I'm on twitter now getting the latest updates.

Personaly I use names that are my own creation and I am not really concerned with zomg my name is taken, imo you should want your own identity not try to live through someone elses name.  If you really want to be a ranger named legolas by all means keep checking for it to come up, but if you actualy have your own unique name its not a big deal ill check back in an hour or so.

The most populated west coast server for North America is going to be Siel. But, why not just jump on Siel? It's going to be the most populated server.

The most populated East Coast Server in North America is going to be Zikel.

I got the game patched no problem, so all I need to do is log in and make my toons. Does this apply to the entire pre-select as well?

Well, I have created my own names, I even made sketches of of my character, and gave her a name. A name that i made up, and is not based on some other fantasy character, but it's quite a simple name, and I do rly want to have it... or I have to play an entire game with a character that carries a name I don't want. :p

Well I am in Oklahoma and I am worried about lag being to high if I go west.

Yeah, Harry Potter for the mage and Legolas for the ranger. ROFL! Well, those are the things that make you KOOL! is that you've gotta pick the kool name.

I just wish that when games give u a time that you can log in that you will actually be able to.

Im not complaining and understand they will have problems or something most likely.

I just wanna get in and get my name really BAD!! Im going through AION withdrawal!!!!! xD

Do you think that  Oklahoma would get bad lag by playing on a west server? I love to be in a high populated server, more chance to make friends.

Servers have been up for a few minutes already, I got my name

I just snagged Ender on two servers :)  Now I can go back to work!

all i get now is pass or id do not match which is nuts same as always

I snagged the name Nova on 2 servers, one asmodian, and one elyos ^^
