...I don't get it...it looks like just another high fantasy/wow-like interface, asian grinding mmo...boring.  It doesn't seem to have anything new to offer, same old mmo story different game, I don't think it will have the longevity to make it an mmo success.  I may be biased though, I'm tired of all these fantasy mmos, moved on to the sci-fi plane.

Have you even played the game yet or are you just going off what you see in screen shots and such?

I'm going to play it for its PvP action. I'm not a big fan of Fantasy, but that's what there's the most of currently, and I'd be playing something Sci-fi if something substantially good would freakin' come out (which it hasn't, yet). So until then, Aion is the next best thing to twinkies on the market currently.

it has a rather refreshing story to tell you the truth. Plus there are no elfs or gnomes emphasis on the gnomes.

What I dont understand is why do they keep saying the game is going to fail just because they dont like it. If you dont like then go find something that you do like.

Its got good pvp and the artwork is really really good on par wtih Guild Wars?  Maybe why.  Personally I think it could get a 9.0 on mmorpg once all the reviews are in.  I am serious.

I have to admit that I agree with the OP.

Aion felt like a F2P with better graphics and aggro mobs. I felt as if there was more grind than there was entertainment. Granted the people seemed to be a little more mature and English speaking than they would be in most other F2Ps.

I just think that everyone is trying so hard to replace WoW that they are pretty much willing to accept anything. Which would explain why Aion is getting so much attention. I'm still on the fence with this one.
I really don't ever remember thinking that Aion was at all Difficult or Challenging. Which is rather depressing.

Regardless.. For the same reason I bought WoW I may end up buying Aion. Just nothing else out there.

It's hyped, because it's a.) not WoW, and b.) because it's not complete and utter garbage, like the vaaaast majority of MMOs that have come out the past few years. It will be launching polished and playable, which is a hell of an accomplishment for this genre, apparently.

You got to level ten and quit, and don't know anything about the endgame.

That's fine.

But a lot of us are playing Aion because the game is very challenging for an MMO, isn't an asian grinder, and possesses a fantastic PvP focus.
