However, considering that we're nearing the 5th page, it kind of just makes you look like a bored jerk who has nothing to do on a Thursday night. =( I can only imagine how you must never get bored when it comes to people's grammatical prowess--or should I say their lack thereof. My family and friends always mix up things such as "seen" and "saw" when they're speaking, but I generally just let it pass. I could always get really nit-picky and refer to how "Also, AN v. A" is not a sentence; it is a fragment. In any case, I'd rather sound stupid than sound like a total jerk. Although I suppose that by typing this I'm one step closer to being brought down to your level. =P I suppose I should put forth some type of positive input towards this thread so people won't consider me a troll, as well. #(Whatever number we're on) You know you're an Aion troll when all you do is complain that flying is just some type of gimmick or ploy to attract gamers, and that it does next-to-nothing for the actual game-play. (Come and get me, trolls! I know there's a mistake in here somewhere!)

50. You read this thread while tabbed out of WoW waiting on your raid to get together... "Mom, I play Tera for the gameplay I swear!!" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O-2paFdRw_U |

I am not a troll at all. In fact, I despise trolls and the idea of trolling in a general sense. I was trying to help by indicating how stupid speech like that seems. Instant and text messaging are having enough of a detrimental effect on the way people use language, I think. These things I pointed out are not simple mistakes or typos, they are gross bastardisations of a language. Why should I not point them out in an effort to bring the idea to people's attention? Even if they hate me, they may think about that mistake and not make it so often. Kamikazego was kind enough to point out that I included a sentence fragment in my previous post. Firstly, I do not think a sentence fragment is anywhere near the same plane of grammatical errors as the "your/you're" or "there/their/they're" or "a/an" mistakes that I am seeing more and more of. In fact, writers have been using sentence fragments for various reasons for hundreds of years. A statement or concept does not always need to be conveyed in conventional subject/verb/object format. I hope that helps. I will say, however, that I am glad you are astute enough to pick up on such a thing, even if I think it was a result of your malice towards me that had you looking for a mistake in the first place. And Kamikazego, if you do not point out when someone you know says something like "I seen that bird," you are doing them a disservice by letting them continue on without knowing something you could easily have taught them. Has the very idea of intellectualism become so taboo that trying to help others know more is seen as trolling? Or are you so full of cynicism, ignorance, and/or malice that you immediately think others have minds as dark as yours before you assess what actually happened? I remember a time when people were embarrassed to make such mistakes. And they do happen; I am not saying that I am perfect, but it does annoy me to find out I made a mistake. I remember a time when I was young and I made these sorts of mistakes; someone might point it out to me, and I would be annoyed that I had done something to make myself appear to not be as intelligent as I am, and I would try harder to remember not to make that sort of mistake in the future. By the same token, I remember in university, I would sometimes correct others and they would note that they made a mistake. They would be annoyed with themselves and glad that I pointed the mistake out to them. I really do believe that most people are, on the whole, fairly intelligent. I believe that the other side of that coin is that most people are wilfully ignorant of simple concepts. I did not come to this thread to contribute to the list of things that make someone an Aion troll. I noticed this thread on the main page and decided to say something that might make a fellow human being think about what they were saying and how they were saying it in the hopes that I could help raise the quality of discussion and, yes, intelligence, not only in these forums but out in the world when people that read it go out into that world. I once was a schoolteacher, and I can tell you that it is hard enough work to get people to think about the English language. If I can make people think about it here, maybe I can make someone's life a little easier when they are teaching. Seriously, if you are old enough to be talking here, you are old enough to know the difference between your and you're. You are. Really.
You know you are an Aion troll when you make a thread about GameGuard being removed only to laugh about how it will probably be added back later.

^ Wow, you may not be a troll but goddamn are you longwinded. Jesus... 1. For god's sake mmo gamers, enough with the analogies. They're unnecessary and your comparisons are terrible, dissimilar, and illogical. 2. To posters feeling the need to state how f2p really isn't f2p: Players understand the concept. You aren't privy to some secret the rest are missing. You're embarrassing yourself. 3. Yes, Cpt. Obvious, we're not industry experts. Now run along and let the big people use the forums for their purpose. |

#53. You start a post with a subject confusing your and you're. #54 You say A Aion Troll instead of AN Aion Troll. #55 You use a capital T for troll. Hey, you invited Grammar Nazis to the party.
So, where's the cheese dip?

LoL I swear that there is a group here that hates every game and is overly critical of everything. They are just games sheesh, it's a hobby. If you don't like them anymore quit posting and go fly a kite or teach an English class. It seems we have plenty of people here the at obviously educated beyond their intelligence. And @ the OP the list made me laugh. |

I seriously can't stand to see how common these types of mistakes are. People seriously don't realize just how stupid it makes them seem.
Back to the topic at hand.... #58. ...you spend more time lurking in the Aion forums looking for opportunities to post about how great your game is rather than playing that game. #59. ...you look for every possible way to conclusively prove that a game that has already proven its success elsewhere will somehow fail, just because it's releasing another localized version. Marry me? If this one hasn't already been stated: #60. Using xfire statistics to justify your conclusions of how well an MMO is doing/will do/has been doing. "IRL is a pretty upstanding MMO with thousands of classes, a lot of PvP and even some pretty unique emotes and titles you can acquire. Explore that world first, then we'll talk about this virtual one." |

Ah, thanks for the offer man, but I'm not into guys. Oh, and another...
#61. ...you manage to somehow find a way to make your hatred of Aion relevant to every single topic about Aion and are actually delusional enough to believe your arguments are based on facts. #62. ...you believe that liking or disliking Aion is proportionate to the number of people playing Aion. #62. ...you believe that Aion's press releases for marketing should contain the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth, so help them God. Failing that, Aion's potential players should quickly stop playing Aion, regardless of enjoyment, and play WoW because Blizzard has never lied. haha, the ironic thing is that just as I was reading your post, I could hear this English teacher in the background talking to his class.... (he is being a grammar nazi atm..... I can hear the English verbage going off in the background. I'm in the computer lab, and they have half the damn room divided in half because we had a huge influx of new students at our campus this semester. I feel for these English 101 Newbies. May the force be with them. And, I love this thread, and everyone who posted in it. I'm sorry if I was trolling, and if you were too, I forgive you. Even the super Nazi-grammar- cow dude. Peace brothers. Aion is about to release so the trolls will have no bait or fuel, because everyone will be immersed in game. See you in Game! ~Soulsurfer <3 |

Hey everyone,
I just want to thank everyone for posting and continuing my initial post. I apologize for not being gramatically correct or having poor spelling, however I just dont care personally about it. You are all welcome to continue the list, I am going to start a new thread reflecting the opposite to be fair to those that do not care for Aion as much. P.S. You know your an Aion troll when you try to troll a joke thread. |

You put a big smiley :)))) when other games don't do well. You put a nice :)))) without thinking that it means some people lost their jobs (people with families). So please as a 54 year old man (sometimes I doubt that b/c of such posts), before you mindlessly write such garbage with a :))) at the end, think twice before posting....maybe three times in your case. |

I had no intention of playing Aion at all; because, like the list says it looked like another Asian grinder. Well a friend of mine played it and he kept going on and on about how much he liked it; so, I gave it a shot and I loved it. I usually know right away if a game is going to do well or not; this game has potential to go far already. Close mindedness almost caused me to miss out on this. |
