What's happened to our courts? We need more judges like Harold DeMoss that understand the importance of a contract. When a woman signs her rights away to work for a wonderful (Fortune 500) company like Halliburton, that contract should be respected! Two liberal judges on the 5th circuit have zero respect for corporations rights and contractual obligations. Sickening how easily an opportunistic woman can defy a binding contract and then win the case in court. One last thought, TORT REFORM! www.motherjones.com/mojo/2009/09/halliburton-loses-jamie-leigh-jones TORT REFORM: I am in favor of "settlement panels". Easy for the judge to look at a "best practice" settlement per offense. Who needs litigation when we can save time and money by cutting out the middle man through "comparative effectiveness"? |

Yes lots of contracts include:
She is suing the wrong person. You are suppose to sue the rapers and the boss who did the imprisonment. A lawyer for such a high profile company can easily push blame onto the individual employees and get off the hook. She is just wasting her money going for the company as a whole. There are so many perputrators in this if she went for them 1 by 1 then she would be awarded alot of money, probably something meaningful after the 95% lawyer tax. I agree on Tort reform. Cases like this would have her getting rewarded damages earlier and in a greater amount. The only one who profits from the current civil court system are the lawyers. |

She shouldn't be sueing anybody. She should be in arbitration like her contract states. Halliburton covers it's ass very well. If we allow the liberal activist judges to give handouts to these free loaders we have failed all corporations. Stocks prices will plummet. Nobody wants to invest in a company that gets sued every time they allow rape and false imprisonment. Settlements impact the bottom line. Yep. Lawyers should be banished from the USA. I am in favor of "settlement panels". Easy for the judge to look at a "best practice" restitution per offense. Who needs litigation when we can save time and money by cutting out the middle man? An attorney isn't even supposed to ask his client if he's guilty or not, that would be considered unethical...
tort reform = interprit law, not legislate from the bench. classic coservative vs liberal thinking. |
