I think the 100 players per server is realy GENIOUS. (so that means 100 players in one big town) from what i readed its not when som1 logs out som1 else can join the server. cus lets face it if there are like 10000+ players in one big GTA town it would be just 100% non stop free for all shooting game. What i dont now but hope is that if one player dies he needs to restart his character. and gets errased from that sever (or has the oppurtunite to make a new char on that server) with 100 players that only play the same server you would now evri1 in the game. that would rly be awesome |

100 players per server would be cool if they do the servers more like FPS do them. But if they are like WoW servers, then I would have to argue that the less servers there are, the better. Also, I really hope this game doesn't come with any kind of payment plan. FPS have been known for being free to play after retail sale. Most MMOs today don't offer enough service to really warrant any subscription fees in my opinion.- |

100 is not enough. 200 would be cool. If darkfall online can make a 100 vs 100, APB can make it too. An instand made for war only with 100 players vs 100 other players or something. They should try to make even bigger instant and try to add 300 players in one server and we will be good with that. 16 players was enough in GTA, but APB is more like an MMO. (I didnt not said rpg) But its still an MMO anyway. They should make a stress server test everytime to try to add the most accurate number in each instances. They should also make an instance without any innocent or any kind of npc. Only players and parked cars. That way, they could add even more players in those kind of instance and it should be made for pvp only. About the teams, fuck that. APB should be an FFA game. If you want to team up, you should invite someone else to party or guild I dont want anything done like wow, joining a BG and you are forced to team up with some unknown player. |

I think Realtime worlds should really consider making the game a lot bigger or something if they expect people to be satisfied while playing with only 100 people it just wouldn't feel like an MMO, but that's just my opinion. |

90% of the world is ignorant.. The other 10% just don''t give a fuck.. |
is this another deathmatch game being pawned off as an mmorpg like crime craft? sigh.. |

Well it won't be free for all shooting game unless you choose the server type that supports that. The regular servers DO NOT let you kill just anyone, you get "missions" to commit or stop crimes, and those specific individuals you are allowed to kill or capture. There is really more to APB than shoot em up. |

Champions Online did the same thing. but at least give the APB managment their due credit for having the balls to be direct with teh public on this basic feature of the game. I read a lot of material over the entire life of the CO website and from various otehr sites, and not once did cryptic revela that they set up the game with only 100~ people interacting at one.
honestly, when the fuck did Massive turn into a grand total of 100? I suppose its when MMOs became glorified chat rooms for the unemployed and when teh console demographic breeched the PC world.
what ever, neitehr companies are getting my money. |

It isn't 100 per server, it is 100 per combat district. Each server has 10,000 and this is fact. |

I would much rather prefer 1000 people per server, I think that would honestly make things a little bit more interesting and may chaotic at the same time for the players; allow more different gangs to try and set up territory and larger battles. However, I can understand the limitation in the populations per server, considering the advanced graphics engine they are using, it could make things pretty laggy to try and render large numbers of players. Current MMO: Champions Online, Aion |

I am not sure if there will be 100 people server I think will be one two servers for 1000 people or more, they said that districts are splitted in 100 people so 100 people/district not 100 people/server |

Apparently you have no idea how much an actual server costs or how much it costs to run and maintain. |

APB looks pretty sweet. |

Quote:Each game world or server has a limit of 10,000 players concurrently online. These players will be playing on district maps which each hold up to 100 players for action districts or 250 players for social districts. Each world has 100’s of these district maps so although a single action district has a 100 player limit, there is no limit to the number of other players you will encounter. Exact quote from the site. |

The world should just be huge and allow a huge amount of people, that way it would still be balanced and not 24/7 chaos, but it would still be a huge world with the opportunity to meet a lot of people. Then again, that would be extremely difficult to make. I just want the most realistic world as possible. |

God this company finally creates a great way to play a game like this and there is STILL cry babies. Let the god damn beta come out before we start saying 100 is not enough, trust me, these people understand how to make a game. |

You obviously have no idea what you are talking about or you are simply using incorrect terminology. You are saying 100 players per server but what I think you mean is 100 players per world(or zone) and having 20+ worlds per physical server. |

There is something to be said for keeping is small. Games like "Love" are also doing this. There have been a few studies that show that keeping your numbers below 150 make it so everyone can interract sufficiently enough to generate a community without cliques.
That, and yeah, 10k people blowing everything up might not be a good idea either :p |

I think 100 per district (or whatever the term is) is brilliant. Although I don't know about balance issues. I'm curious if they will force it to be 50 v 50 or if there will be fudging. I couldn't imagine having 1000 people driving around like idiots in the same area, would be total chaos. |
