I hear you, Man.  And I'm guessing "now they won't", and "yes they are."

Not going to happen.

I never got to play pre cu or NGE, but if they made retro servers I'd be all about it, cause what it is now, I'm not paying for, and even if it was free i got better things to do. LIke........laundry

You guys need to face up to the facts. The game as you knew and loved it is gone and will never come back (at least in any official capacity).

Your only choice is to either play SWG as it is now or look for some alternative. Personally I don't know why you guys just don't re-sub to the game in its current state. Most of the sandbox elements are still there. You can still have a house and you can still build player cities and setup shops, etc. Many of the features of this game that you hold the most dear are still there. Why not swallow your pride and play it? It will be much more of a sandbox experience than anything else on the market (other than EVE).

i know 250k people who will love seeing the pre-cu come back

and every time i tell people about the pre-cu all of them ask why did $OE take it away from us and they talk about how they would love to play it.

bring it back $OE and you will have wow numbers

No doubt it would have a decent player base but WoW numbers? Not a chance.

They wouldn't bring it back if the could and they can't. Not gonna happen.

     I vote they bring the original SWG back exactly the way it was in the beginning except with updated graphics, bigger world maps, more creatures and all the missing player species and skillsets...  this would be the best thing on the planet besides the fact that we can't live if we don't get food, water, and sleep.

I agree, haha like I said I don't even play SWG haven't for almost 4 years it sucked then and it sucks now, I only spoke up because i'm sick of people that can't get over it basicly.

pre-cu swg was one of the greatest games ever made and everwhere i look i hear the same chant the same cry

it is time $OE do what we the players tell them to do. it is time for $OE to bring back our pre-cu system and give us back what they stole from us. our game. if $OE will not then bioware will or mark my words we will make them look like $OE 2.0 something that won't be hard thanks to bioware getting in bed with money grubbers like ea and micro$oft

   I will never play ANY game ran by SOE as long as I live. I have never been in so many disputes with those assholes than with anyone else. I just hope that once SWTOR comes out, who ever is left will leave. Pre CU this was the best MMO out there, and every server had a good population. Now that they are closing half of them, there is still four or five more they could get rid of also. I am a huge Star Wars geek and MMO nut. But I hope the first ever bomb dropped in WWIII lands right on their headquarters. They can all rot in hell for all I care.

SWG, in its current state, is nowhere near a sandbox, it is a litter box.  It has the single worst combat system an MMORPG that is currently available.  It also has several game breaking bugs, suck as MOBs that can attack you through walls, MOBs that can stand right in front of you and attack you, while you can't attack back, and the wonderful specials that don't fire because the game engine was never intended to handle the horrific combats system that currently infests the game.  You can add to that the fact that the majority of game systems that have been added since the NGE downgrade are completely copied from WoW, down to the UI, except for the fact that the WoW versions function in the manner they are intended, and the SWG devs just recently became exasperated enough to announce they will no longer focus on fixing the game's classes while 'updating' the game.

Housing does not a sandbox make.  Housing is the only sandbox element left in SWG, and housing can be found in several other MMOs, all of which are better products than SWG.  The only thing SWG has going for it is the Star Wars IP, and considering the developers of the game have no affection or understanding of the Star Wars IP, the IP becomes a negative for the product.

If you're after a sandbox experience, and you don't like playing the spreadsheet named EVE, try UO.  It has an open character system, which has been severely damaged by becoming item based, but it is still much less of a litter box than SWG currently is.  That isn't to say it is currently any good, it just means it is better than SWG currently is, which could be accomplished by an online tic tac toe game.

But i for one can not play my MCH, also what about all the rangers out there that can't play there class?.

Yup! Seems to be the norm, not the exception from what I've seen.

Guess we need to understand that this site most likely gets revenue from MMOs (judging by the banners...duh!)...bashing their sponsors too much is probably what triggers it.

1. You DO NOT KNOW 250,000 people. More to the point, being as you do not know 250,000 people, you can not possibly know 250,000 people that want to play pre-cu SWG.

Yeah, all of my posts from this thread were removed, lol.  Probably because one of them mentioned the emu and the others basically laid out what an idiot the OP was.

The posts that were removed were not bashing the game so to the speak, they were bashing the op who was beeing a bit harsh imo, and also about him creating his acount yesterday. It was sugested that it was an alt.......weird.

edit 2 prevent double post* Also some of my posts were removed and now its very hard 4 me to get into this thread.

I would guess if they thought they could make some money off of it they would give it a go.
