I can't seem to find a good MMO that will keep my interest more then a week or two, so I figured I would play some single player games for awhile and take a break from MMOs.
I've already played Oblivion, Morrowind, NWN 1 & 2, Baldurs Gate 2, Diablo 1 &2. Are there any other good quality fantasy-based single player games out along those same lines that are worth buying?
Thanks!

Titan Quest is actually a really under rated game. It is a diablo clone, but definitely the best of the bunch. Well worth checking out. Also, Dragon Age Origins is coming out in November which looks like it might be good. The Witcher got really good reviews and a lot of positive buzz. I tried it and didn't like it but a lot of people did. edit Just reread your post. BG1 was awesome, to me the story was better than BG2. |

Do not fear death, Death will come a knocking anytime it wants. |
Dragon Ages - I saw it at E3. It will be the best single player RPG game ever made when it is released in Nov. It is amazing. I have the collectors edition on pre order. Sooner or Later |

Titan Quest with its expansion are great! Definately worth it. Also mentioned was Witcher which was a fantastic game. There is also two Worlds and the Gothic series. There is also the Sacred series. If you have an Xbox 360 Fable 2 is fantastic. Upcoming is Dragon Age: Origins and Risen on the horizon which look promising. |

I actually bought Titan Quest and the first expansion for my kids awhile back, but have never played it. I may have to load it up and try it out. I had forgotten about it.
Dragon Age Origins looks pretty good. I think I will pick it up for my Xbox360 when it releases.
Thanks for the replies!

Wizardry 8, both Freedom Force games, Fallout 3, Mass Effect, and if you want to get oldschool - Return to Krondor. All worth checking out. |

I personally find it really hard to find games that I enjoy playing. Probably because I'm so picky about them and mostly play only RPGs which are quite rare. Here's a short list of some of my favourite games (some of them sci-fi but still RPG):
Favourite games: Neverwinter Nights 1 & 2, The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, Fable: The Lost Chapters, Thief 3: Deadly Shadows, Fallout 3, Diablo 1 & 2... |

Good to see Drakensang mentioned here, I'll second that. "Under the Radar" game but they got alot right in that title. Polished, loads of customization and charm, runs clean honestly I don't have anything bad to say about that game. Another game I would recommend is Dark Messiah of Might and Magic. More of an action game, but they got the first person controls dead on for archery, sword and board, rogue/stealth and whatnot (haven't tried a spellcaster yet). Satisfying combat, really nice graphics and a sexy succubus in your head. Akin to the "Thief" series if you've ever tried those, I would compare the two in terms of control.
Also what I've done, being in the same "discouraged" with current crop of mmo's and seeking to fill my time with single player games, is picked up a DS system. There are a ton of great RPG's on that system and relaxing on the couch or in bed playing a traditional style jrpg or Tactical rpg is definitely a hell of way to spend some quality "fantasy" based game time. Playing FF3, Disgaea 2 and Etrian Odyssey 2 right now. Etrian Odyssey is ...similar to old school Wizardry/Bard's Tale (original version) games where you draw your own map on screen with the stylus, it's hard but it's damn satisfying. Lots of good games on that system. The PSP as well. Hoping to get some extra cash around Xmas for a PSP and some good rpg's on that system for myself until something decent comes along in the mmo genre again. |

I may have to check out Drakensang too. Never heard of it, but I just read some reviews on it and it sounds interesting.
Thanks again for the suggestions. |
