Very true, although from my own experience they've been a severe pain in the ass when you get more than one or two of them around. Between some guys getting beyond weird trying to cater to them like they're going to end up going out with them if they kiss their ass enough and the women trying to show each other up - much as they pretend its always the guys simply being immature if I had a nickel for every time they started bickering or causing issues with each other if they feel someone is stealing their spotlight I'd be a millionaire. Still, you are right. Where the women will go; the men always follow. I'm just not sure overall that's a good thing least for me heh. I cannot stand in game drama and where the women go the drama always ensues as well.
I thought about your post for a minute, and I have to agree. When I think back, most of the best drama in any guild I've ever been part of revolved around women. Even if they didn't cause the actual drama, there were always guys fighting for their attention and basically acting like arses. Sure, I've known a great many cool female gamers, but the bad ones really have managed to stand out in my memory. Regardless, Aion does have attractive female avatars, which I've found is almost a universal requirement for a game to attact a larger female player base. Women far more often then men will not play an avatar that they feel is ugly or unstylish. Edit: forgot to say, IMO

Originally posted by Wickedjelly In my experience that is true. The best online guild I have ever been in was torn apart by female drama. Most women have to be the centre of attention. Their egos cannot deal with another female receiving praise or favour. |

most gamer went in game to be nobodys be it female or male they dont go there to fall in love and whats not why you think lot of mic are broken they just go in x,y,z game and want to have fun true some would love to see female just role female and male male but it doesnt go like that i saw a dude pull a prank one time he asked his sister to speak instead of him while he was playing those 2 never laughed so hard at gamer in their entire life |

I think that is an antiquated overused opinion. I've had more guys say their microphones are not working than girls. You dont need vent to find out. Just ask them. It's that simple. don't be afraid, they won't bite. Guys do play girls toons a lot, but nowadays they generally no longer "pretend to BE a girl". When I eventually talk to the girls in RL I've never had to say "I just KNEW you were a real girl!" lol. I play a girl toon, and I get asked... eventually. I play my toon like a girl and they sometimes assume I am. You ask me and I'll tell you, but if you fell in love before you asked that's your fault. Â |

I admit that if I befriended a cute Elf in WOW, and 'she' turned out to have Mr T's voice - I might stop playing these games altogether. |

Me neither. But often when I hear a female voice on chat. I wonder "Shit i hope this one ain't gonna tear the guild apart with drama" lol but of course that's not all females. I've met some fantastic female players in games, I treat them the same as my male buddies though. After all we're just gamers trying to have a bit of fun :)
P.S Don't ever under estimate female gamers in PvP though hehe |

I think there can be fault. a Guy that wouldnt take no for an answer fell in love with me... or my character... I couldn't tell which. He never asked if I was a girl or guy and he'd already gotten pretty deep in his infatuation. At NO urging from me. I just wanted to be his friend... that made him want me more. I got very evasive, and he lusted for me more. And now, since I'm not a cold blooded person, I didnt want to break his lil heart by just coming out and telling him. I never ever made any advances towards him, but since he was a pig he wasn't going to take no for an answer, he felt I was a challenge. Â |

lol I hate to say it and I'll probably generate a few flames but I think that same thing.."Man oh man here comes the drama." I don't know why but all too often it "seems" like gamer girls bring drama like nothing else into a guild. |

If a guy plays an MMO because females play an MMO, well he is destined to never get laid. They're not going to say "Hey I gamed with you let's meet up and do it" and you're most likely never even going to see what they look like.
It's not surprising that girls are drawn to Aion, girls dig angel like features and that's what those wings are. I bet that one feature drew in the majority of the female players. Now if they added effeminate vampires or a boy wizard then they'd have cornered the market.
With how many posts/articles on this site about how games are marketted towards guys with scantily clad women. No one has bothered to write one about how marketting in movies (and it wil start with games more as more women game) uses the same few approaches to get women to go to every single one of those lame chick flicks that are all the same.
I'll stick to games that are good, regardless of who's controlling the other pixels on the screen. |

MMO's have attracted women for years. There were tons of women playing EQ back in 99. Your correct that where women go men go. That's why they have ladies nights at clubs. However, that is real life not a video game. In my 10+ years of playing MMO's I don't recall once ever meeting someone who bought a game to meet women. IMO the only thing this this means is a larger player base for Aion. Reading anything into the number of women subscribers is silly and somewhat insulting to the male player base. Both men and women will buy this game because they see it as a game they want to play. |

ok let me get this straight, I am pre ordered the game and played the OB because the female aspec of the characters? It is half true, When I look for game I look for the lore,CHARACTERS, the pvp(or pve if its a pve mmorg), how smooth the game run, what you can do besides fighting like crafting, community, ect. oh wait did I say half true? Though I do go by how good graphics of surrounding and characters look, there is more to it that I look for. So don't go around saying that most us girls go to mmorpg just to look pritty and you boys stand there look at us and drool, maybe yank if the character is wearing skimpy outfit. Just because I play to look pritty, I also play to play the game and have fun. playing:Aion, shot online. |

I don't know why but all too often it "seems" like gamer girls bring drama like nothing else into a guild. Probably because they are about around the age of 13-25, Me I am just above that age, about to go on 27. Their young and they need attention, because rl is being harsh to them... But not all girls are like it, So I say its not quite fair to say girls always bring the drama, when in most guilds I been in... It was the guys who were. playing:Aion, shot online. |

It wouldn't have anything to do with the "boys" turning into mindless dolts at the sheer thought of estrogen in the air? Guys can create just as much, if not more, drama than the gals. Try not to generalize, it makes you sound like the stereotypical male.

However, from the women I've shown my games to, most of them responded more positively toward Aion. I have read many posts from guys whose g'friends played one game or another and they wanted to support them so they played the same game. heck, if my g'friend played a particular online game I would probably be there as well. Well provided I didn't think it was completely dreadful. |

Well, Aion is very friendly with positive colors and stuff... and the characters look innocent and whatnot... and you play faeries or angels or something (well humans with wings that is). Of course it appeals to girls. |
