Hmm... Weather affects, good idea..... BUT we will have to see how turns out. Ragdoll physics for infantry. I have seen the videos. And everytime I chuckle, not because it is good or great looking but because its the same game with new graphics. High Explosive rounds still have next to no affect in game on infantry. But all in all CRS is taking a step in the right direction.... to bad games like ArmA 2 have surpassed WWIIOL in scale, scope and execution. So much crap, so little quality. |

Hmmm... I didn't realize that you could now fight over the biggest map there is... or that you can jump in a realistically modeled tank, fighter, armored car, atg, aa gun, destroyer, bomber, dive bomber, half track and truck. or that you can now fight on the same battlefield with thousands of other players at the same time or that you can kill and be killed by tanks at over 2K etc.

Wow WWIIOL doesnt have any of those things either.... PanCHAR anyone? DB7 Supersonic dive bomber? Silent P39 Aerocobra.
Working HE. So much crap, so little quality. |

Honestly, the thing that would drag me back to WW2OL the fastest? A serious round of the ban hammer and some permanent fix to the use of the aimbots and auto-return fire hacks. (Not to mention the "radar"-like hacks and the movement ones) Yeah the game has some structural and basic design issues (like the 5 to 1 plane to infantry ratio lol), but it is quick and easy and above all fun..I just got sick of the rampant cheating. (Yes, it's only by like .01% of the players - but it is there and ridiculously obvious if you play for any length of time) |

I dont know whether to laugh or cry. There are no such things in WW2OL, some people are just better than you. Its a difficult game I know. |

....Right....So you've either never played or you are one of them...(or you only fly planes, so far as I know there aren't any in common use affecting air combat) As for the ground game, they are out there, some of them even admit it if you look in the right places. (and yep, lots of people out there better at the game than me, has nothing to do with it...doesn't mean I can't spot a hack when I see it in use...or when someone on my side uses it and tells me what they are doing!) |

If you were talking about some mainstream game like Battlefield 2, for example, then I would agree with you, but hacks in WW2OL? unlikely, CRS is a small company they dont turn a blind eye to hackers like all those big companies if there were any. I have never seen or heard of any hackers since 2001, I do spot them in other games though. |

/shrug Mainstream or not, some people take it way too seriously...I found it to be an amusing (if nonsensical) game and was originally baffled that people would bother cheating at it...but someone will cheat at anything I suspect. I admit I haven't played in about a year...but I played for a year or close before that...in that time I either saw the hacks I mentioned used personally or was told (on voice chat) about them by a team mate who was using them. I mostly played an Axis tanker or sniper and most of the people I saw hacking were either playing sappers or AFVs if that helps tell you where to look. I won't clutter up this thread with pointless detailed examples, but if you really want to chat about them you can PM me here.(and no, I won't drop names...both because I'm not on some crusade and because it was a long time ago...not like I kept logbooks of it or something) Overally this patch sounds like a really good thing, I may have to go back and check it out....anything they can do to get the game more historical/realistic is good. (Hopefully they will follow on with proper equipment diversification and get rid of all the anomalous gear) |

Not going to say that there arent a few who DID hack and cheat...
They are in every game. But in WWIIOL they were less than 1% of the game population if that.
I hate CRS (DOC) for all its worth, but they are quick on hammering cheats and hacks.
And honestly why would you cheat, when its far to easy to just exploit the flaws in the game.... bush tunnels, silent sappers, British TOW2B ATGMs, sorry I mean grenadiers, silent DACs, Silent P39s, Jettison bombing, super sonic DB7s, Infinite loop Spitfires, Panchars. So much crap, so little quality. |
