Not enough BGs to level fast enough, i decided to make another alt the other day, and I just simply queue up for WSG after lvl 10, what I found is that its not much fun, you dont have many skills, so your pretty much stuck using those 1 or 2 skills until you run out of mana/rage/energy, some classes have noticeable advantages at this low level such as hunters that just keep shooting you from a distance by the time you get to them your dead, and some ppl are twinks that have 2 or 3x more HP and every other possible stat and just kill you nearly instantly. Back on track, you get roughly 6k XP wether you win or loose, its faster to keep with quests and consider what I mentioned above if you want in just for the "fun" :P.

But is it as fast as Vanilla WoW's Exp from PvP system? Or Faster? Or slower? |

Before lvl 70 it's not that good to level in bg's. But when you ding your char to lvl 71 ...then it's really fast and fun to level. But do it only in Alterac Valley!! Alterac Valley win + all towers destroyed = prox 200k xp Alterac Valley win with close game ( balinda + towers still alive) =+100-150k xp Alterac Valley loss = only xp from kills and from destroyed objects....abouts 16k per tower and more from killing balinda or so. Tip! Usually in morning time av's are like 10-20 min matches! If you are sure about loosing the match...just gather up few fellas (pref lvl80's) and destroy those towers for xp. I leveled my druid from 71 to 80 in Alterac Valley and got abouts 120k honor for gearing...so it's really vanilla to level up that way. And if you have a main with loads of Stone Keepers shards and emblem's...buy hairloom chest+ shoulders for that +20% xp...that way you are at lvl 71 in no time. Hope that helps! |

For once I will give one negative comment. I think the experience gains in AV are too high. Leveling through PvP in WOW is a supplement to the excellent quest designs in WotlK. it is just another option to play. Play as in doing quests (even open world PvP quests if you like those in Wotlk), but now and then it is very nice to hop into a BG when you're in the mood to do organised PvP. You jump into your second PvP spec, push the gear button and within a few seconds you're into the action .... and get experience, honor even reputation for your Justicar title. But AV is giving too much experience when you compare it with the others. Perhaps Blizzard is doing it on purpose. Perhaps they want AV to be played massively. I don't know. I already saw AV has a little bit more varied play these days. Lots of hack/slash in the center again. The experience gains for towers is something that motivated midfield fighting. In my BG the racing fight seems to be a minority these days. As for those who complain that AV should have a seperate lvl 80 BG like the others, I am not convinced either. A newly dinged 80 also has the chance to hit upon lower enemies, that's a motivator for that guy too and the others can gain experience. So personally I would lower the AV experience gains by 50%. But I don't know what the hidden agenda is. Blizzard has the data.

For the 71-80 Av i think it's good to have that high xp reward system...difference with the 71 gear and lvl 80 gear is like "boom head shot". Noone want's to be that little rabit in front of the bullets for too long. Now you are able to get that level cap smaller in no time and at the same time you'll get mediocore pvp gear via honor. |

@ Moonkin Yes, it is just an opinion of course. I always got the crafted pvp reslience gear on lvl 78 at the auction house. Served me well. And the crafters are happy too. I think for WOW the best would be they would reduce AV experience gains to around 80% of what you get in the same time in doing PVE quests. Let's say in one BG like AB or EyS or WSG you could get a maximum of 80% on average of the experience in PVE. Because these BG are around 20/25 minutes of play, you could do 4 quests, that's 80K Experience at these levels. BG's should give around 30 K (losing) to around 70 K (winning) experience in these later 70's levels. But the other BG's don't reach these levels, while AV is clearly above that. The better than average rewards for AV may have a reason. Perhaps stimulating 40vs40 play. But it's on average double these amounts.
