Anyways on topic.  I asked some friends and they told me if World of Warcraft starts loosing subscribers and stuff for other games such as Aion there is always Diablo 3 and Starcraft 2 coming up.

Cowards and carebears?  As someone who has worked as a jailer for a number of years i can honestly say that these video game, pvp killers are a joke if they think killing someone in a video game means anything.   I also have a son in the military and have played with others in the military as well. Ask those boys about killing. You video game tough guys are pathetic. Someone who likes to play PVE is a coward? I think ganking someone in a video game is an act of cowardice in itself. Get over yourself in your fantasy world.

well its same thing as your body being camped in WOW... but you can also go to different channel if you wish not to be ganked

 

Well, in wow you can always play on a pve server and be free of pvp, and no, you cant change channel in aion simply because after lvl 20 there is no channels anymore.

But its good, I think it will keep some of the cowards and carebears at bay and filter a bit more the community of leet kids that like to play just to show the fat lootz

ok your right, I will stop sneaking up people and kill them in a pvp game when I have the chance and join the rl and find some macho job and act tough because I have a gun. pleasssse dont make me laugh.  One: no offence to to you and your sons job, I am glad he is keeping country safe, and grateful of that. but saying that ganking in a pvp which is, gank or be ganked comes to view is coward... then dont play pvp.... two Where in my sentence I say pve is a coward type of person? I perfered pve since I first started mmo all the way up to BC in wow, then started playing lineage II because BG in wow turned me on into pvp... so yeah no ones a coward playing pve or ganking... just way we play in pvp. I have gotten ganked plenty  of times in pvp, but I will never give up!

Secondly , I don't think its worth paying for the monthly subscription @ Aion just for spiffy graphics , a gimped combat sistem, nor that it is more reccomended to stay in WoW either. What my friends meant I think, is that you do not have monthly subscriptions in Starcraft / Diablo and that they could provide copious amounts of entertainment that a current gen MMORPG can't.

I only know of me lol. I have been looking for that "right" MMO. I thought W.O.W was it for awhile. I parted ways with W.O.W after i realized the game was for alot of gold buyers, hopefully Aion wont be like that

I am just saying is ganking is the same as a person who tags himself say at summoning stone and get jumped by oppisite faction, and their body is camped, here in aion, if your ganked, your rezed in the city and go somewhere else, or change channels.  In that sentence I never said I was gloating that I was a powning ganker!!!

there will always be gold buying in every mmo.   The nice thing about what i have seen so far in Aion is that the top end gear ( below lvl 30) is easily attainable through a small amount of work.   Gold buying i don't feel will be a nessicity, like it was in alot of other mmo's

I finally managed to rip my brother off of WoW and all his friends as well (they follow him like little puppy dogs haha.  But, I had to promise him that I would play TOR with him when it comes out.  lol... We are going to make a guild of gamers from all kinds of mmo's and fps's etc... and its gonna be fuggin huge!!!

I know a guild like that in battlefield, they do eve online and few other games
 

doesn't matter, they will leave for SW:TOR....  hardcore pvpers (And i mean hardcore) will stay in darkfall...  and all that good stuff... aion will be a boom followed by a boom of players leaving for TOR.

Back to your question about WoW players going to Aion.  Wow players are going to go somewhere, we'll have to see if it's to Aion.

So, I did play in the closed and open Beta . . . . and still trying to figure out what REALLY is different enough about AION for me to bother playing more then the month or so I have for free. This is not a complaint per say . . yet . . since I have not gotten to level 20 yet . . But from my POV this has new graphics which are nice but have a limited "ooh ahh" factor . . and effectively the same over all game play as any other MMO out there ("Wow included"). . so effectively the same old same old??.

But really could anyone give me (and I am sure others) a clue about this? It would be helpful.

you get the flight from city of heros, the rvr pvp of daoc, the quest based lvling of WoW, the graphics of AoC,  the raids of WoW, the seiges of L2 and the drops and grind are so much easier than most mmo's i've been in

You can form an Alliance which can hold up to, lots! Not sure of the exact number.

Its a 6man dungeon for eylos Theobomos Secret Laboratory

You can form a 24 man player group but there are no PVE dungeons larger than 6

Meh, I do not totally agree there.

• Allot of MMO's do flight most do quite well, Flight in AION does not seem special in any way. I think Champions may do it better.
• I have yet to see the rvr/pvp but Warhammer does a good job there. (is this really THAT better??)
• The quest based leveling is VERY weak and quite boring. (kill x of these or pick up x of those or bring this here)
• Have yet to see raids . .but again most MMO's have raids for good or bad.
• The Drops are few (very few items so far) other games have better variety.
• Class's are more or less standard so no new marks there.
• Skills acquiring seems jumpy ( not as smooth as some games)
• only limited character types (same say races) . . . I really like playing non humans. and custimization is suprizing limited even with all of the options.
• No quest or action seems to effect the environment (the sieges are the only thing that seems to do this in game)
• Playing in a small group has all of the problems as most other games. (ie have to wait for respawn to pick up the same quest items or kill names mobs . . fighting for some drops ect.
• Flying is on a timer WTF?!?
• crafting looks painful
• I hate the personal stores people can put up anywhere
• NPC mobs are stupid
• $$ is inflated in AH (that will change for good or bad after launch)
• Mail could be better

Some good points

• movement seems to effect combat . . nice addition.
• combos help with menu bar management and chaining of "cool" moves.
• modern graphics and good style for environments.
• . . . . having problems coming up with more that are AION only

So anything else?? I have seen too many games most had good points . . but rarely enough to have sticking power . . . this seems like a one that is . . So/So good enough for a spin but nothing more.

But again I am looking for more info as I could easily be missing something.
