Now that Aion going live on Sunday ,we are all hyped and eager to get ghold on the action. My question is , is there a time set when the servers go live ? |

I don't know when it starts but you can start 12.00 pm PDT on september 18 to start your character. I'm going to wait a few days though, the newbie areas are quite small and it can get pretty crowded there. |

I reminded myself with Aion why it's a bad idea to beta test a game that you intend on playing. Anyone want a free Aion account? lol

T1 and T2 both have 10 channels, T3 and up are 1 zone channel only. |

You had to click the Options tab > Support (Or community or something) > Change channels > Then you had a choice between 10 channels to choose from that you could flip through every 3 minutes. If channel 1 had too many people, there were 9 other channels to which you could have moved. This will be a very useful feature when they open the floodgates on Sunday. They can adjust classes all day but they can't help the issue between the keyboard and the chair. |

The channel option has been there since CBT. It was in the bottom menu then go over support then change channel. |

Just a quick reply regarding the channel switching. In the last little update at the end of OB the devs changed the way you can switch channels. You still access it the same way, but they have stopped people having access to the 10 channels of the bat. Now a channel will only open when the ones before it reach a certain population point. I'm not sure why the change, but it is most likely to stop people killing the boss mobs and changing channels to rinse and repeat. |

Chat servers are completely seperated. Everyone in every channel speaks in the same chat. Channels don't have each their own chat channels. Plus, if you only see 3 channels up... then that's all there is up at that time. So there shouldn't be any problems at all with grouping. What he said that happened is now instead of just having a static 10 channels open at all times, you will not have say 3 channels open at first and the forth will not open until a certain population mark is reached.
This appears to have been done to stop people from switching between all 10 channels in search of the boss mob to kill. |

oh now as I think at it more, you mean population in the game? because it sounded like channel had to be so high to go to another channel playing:Aion, shot online. |

The pop affects how many channel's there are (it scales). Last day of OB you had to wait 5 min's after you made a channel change. I'm not sure if this affects anyone that is in a party (did not test this). |

The channel system is based on GW in many ways. When an area is very full more channels will open. So this means if there is a 1 channel to 100 people ratio they will probably open up another channel when it's like 1:125. Then you have 2:125 till 2:250 and so on and so forth.
The EST is around 3PM from what is know... I believe it starts 12:00PM CST. But as of right now it's all up to speculation on the exact release date. They did announce the end of preselect is around 12:00PM CST so that's my guess. Playing: Guild Wars and Exteel |
