I have played darkfall and outta experiance I can say that it is sandboxish but its still not a sandbox. The real deal has yet to be created.

I highlighted the relevant portion of my previous post in blue to help you out, since you seem to have (conveniently) overlooked it (as usual).

However, to elaborate... 
Months worth of posts, articles, reviews, interviews, discussions, videos and player accounts is more than enough to know what the game offers and decide, based on my preferences, whether or not I see it as a solid sandbox game or not for me.

I've played pre-NGE SWG, Ryzom and Eve - all solid sandbox titles in my opinion. When compared to what I've learned about DF through the above mentioned sources over the past many months,  I'd bet money at this point that playing DF at this point would accomplish 3 things:

1. Confirm all that has already been well-discussed (to death in some cases) about it.
2. Be a waste of money I would rather apply to something I'm more likely to enjoy at this point.
3. I'd be investing in an amateur developer with a dubious track record and an unprofessional, loud-mouthed spokesperson who exists in perpetual spin mode... aka Tasos.

None of those items inspire me to pull out the credit card just yet...

That is, unless you're prepared to shed light on features the game offers that somehow were overlooked and haven't been discussed at all, by anyone, up to this point? If you are, I'm more than eager to learn of them.

Now... maybe down the road the game will be more fleshed out and I'll see it differently. For now, though, that's not the case.

Were I completely new to DF and knew nothing about it, the "you haven't played" comment would maybe be your "ace card" here. However, since that'snot the case... well... nice try :).

You have your own right to do what you want but if it comes to make comments and talk about it you have to follow some honesty.

You limited yourself  agreeing on something like "sand box can't be defined is a subjective impression" and then write how AV approach is "a weak attempt in building" a sandbox. All your sources in blue cant help you there, the written ones like reviews articles etc are their subjective impressions and according to your own opinion they can't count for you. Same goes for videos etc. everyone of those has be shot and taken from a perspective that isnt yours.

Be cerefully in what you agree next time.

Darkfall is a sandbox because two objective conditions can be applyied on the game design. The first is the non instanced seamless world and the second is that factors like classes and player levels and quest requirements don't limit your gameplay content., you are free to do what you would like and choose your own path in these open world.  We looking at a sandbox if we look at Darkfall. >.<

PS and about 3. i would take care not to become a dubious track record in talking big about things you don't know if i were you.

Someone drops a idiotic idea like "DarkFall is not a sandbox" , then all DarkFall stalker jumps in and congratulate the genious for this idea. if someone else shows common sense and .."oh god forbid he claims the opposite" that Darkfall is a sandbox, tells everyone why he think these and demostrate his claim. He get jumped  and mobed by various namecalling from people who don't even wanna discuss in these forum but just troll.

What i wanted to ask you guys , what job let you so much free time to browse game forums ?  I have to read  tons of mails in the morning..check forums during launch break..and if someone of you want a good "bloody nose" after work, just jump into DF and try not to suck in PvP.

Im an engine programmer at Worldweaver , we produce a 3D Toolkit and Game Engine called DXStudio (www.dxstudio.com)  it is used by military organizations around the world for training , Universities for teaching and Indie Game developers , our morning chatter allows us to talk about games and news altogether, specially since im in R&D.

Our R&D department using DX Studio for supporting their CAD applications, i see it has a really wide range of possible applications. My company is developing  laboratory equipment  for biological and medical facilities.

Personally like you probably would bet i am not working in marketing/sales or communications department, but in IT. All the managers hold the marketing guys for VIP's but i am seeing the R&D guys as the most important. You R&D's producing something, the Salesman wouldn't have anything to sell without your work.
