Perhaps he saw that Aion is played and launched on ... 12 EU servers? That's 240 EU servers short for the moment ... But apparently looking around and do some basic counting is not your strongest point.

I don't really see any game matching WoW's numbers but I don't really believe that is a failure as no game really reaches WoW's numbers. (maplestory perhaps?) Failure would be Aion not being able to retain subs and not having enough money to run. Of course NC made a bold statement and said that they wanted to be THE #2 game right behind wow. that is a very bold statement and I'm not sure if they can do it. I think they will be succussful but I wonder if the melding of pvp and pve in the way that they did it will undermine that goal. Only time will tell. |

I just wanted to show Aion fan boys need to come down with their feet back on the ground. 12 EU servers on launch day means just that. Nothing more nothing less and with this number it is around Lotro EU launch numbers. I am pretty sure the game was already lied up in a big way by its fans. No one can show us the official NCSoft confirmation of those 3.5 M subscriptions "in the east". Only non official rumours. And after playing the Beta most people do question the "real" value of this game and its supposed success. So I await the further growth with that extra 240 EU servers in the coming months and year. 10.000 to 1 they won't even come near 25 Eu servers.

ROFL! Ah no. I treid the Auto Assault Beta and the Tabula Rasa Beta and I know why they failed. This game is nothing like those two. This game is not going to be closed any time real soon. I look forward to the five year celebration. You should check a few more MMOs before you go ahead and type negative about Aion. |

WoW before the expansions was actually pretty good and, to much focus on groups and over specialized classes? Really, MMO's should promote grouping, the genre should promote grouping
Least I'm not alone. I actually preferred how WoW was before the expansions. It still had plenty of solo content but there was definitely more of an emphasis on grouping. Sadly, LotR has done the same thing revamping old content and making a lot of what used to be group content now solo oriented. I like having the option to solo in games but it is seriously starting to get ridiculous the level some games are going. I don't agree with saying those that prefer to solo are antisocial elititists though but I do agree with the part of your post I quoted. |

Your serious right?? Your actually saying the number of servers determines how great a game is?? Ok, here are some numbers for you, the servers I played on in WoW. Khadgar - total 11680 Balnazzar - total 3123 Khaz'goroth - total 15201 Hmm, ok so a couple of them are up in the 20k players total for the server, and some of them are under 1500, most are between 5k-10k. If you look at the average ACTIVE usage accross all the US servers however, its a different story. They show 1600-2500 total usage at any given point in time. http://www.warcraftrealms.com/activity.php?serverid=-2 So all these servers you like to talk about, are supporting up to 2500 people at one time. And thats not on them all, some of them are lucky to have that many TOTAL users period. I havent' the data for what Aion expects to be able to support on each of thier servers, maybe someone has that data. I do think it is far more than the cap each of the WoW servers are currently supporting though. |

I would never lower myself to play on a server with less than 15000 players....
If the game does well, they'll add servers. If not, They'll subtract servers. I'm sure that regardless how many people NCSoft has per server, it will feel well populated when it's full, and empty if things go south... If something dethrones WoW where subscriptions are concerned, we'll just end up sitting around speculating about what will dethrone that.
I'm just waiting for a F2P overhyped sandbox WoW clone with full PVP, epic raid bosses, instanced group content, and Crysis-quality graphics to come out. That, or something fun. |

fun fact is that is completely false, considering aion has absolutely nothing in common with L2 other than being an MMO, and is closer to DAOC and WOWs love child than any other MMO. |

False? That'd be your OPINION, not facts. I myself see more similarities to L2 then WoW but that is MY opinion. Have you actually played L2? Seriously.

Seriously. yes, i have played Lineage 2 for several years, i have a very high lvl Doombringer actually. have you actually played Aion? LOL... they couldnt be any more different! no open pvp, only 2 races, only 8 classes, much smaller but better crafted world, no castle sieges (fortress seiges instead, but the mechanics are completely different), questing system similar to wow's, gear system that is nothing like lineage 2, clan system that is nothing like lineage 2, instanced dungeons unlike lineage 2..... i mean the list just goes on and on.... how in the world can you even THINK they are similar, there is almost no resemblance between the two games other than possibly art design. it is NOT opinion, it IS fact, the games are absolutely NOTHING alike. |

Nothing new for sure, but for those of us who want to get away from WoW and just start over, more or less, we will switch to Aion. I mean the graphics, PvPvE, and gameplay is the same as WoW, but bottom line, we have an optimized game filled with this-gen elements, runs great, and a fresh start, can't get any better. I'd say this game will last me till FFXIV for sure. In the end, you're right, nothing new. |

You fanboys are so stupid, You're actually trying to convince people that THEIR experiance with the game wasn't as bad as they felt it was. Either way it didn't suit their taste and they're telling other people who might be concerned about the same things, that Aion doesn't offer it. It's so pathetic seeing these fanboys rebuttal every negative opinion posters might have about a game, Then it turns out sales are nonexistent and the game dies because these dumb fanboys who threw away their money on it, also leave once they shamefully realize they've been protecting a mediocre game. I'm not saying Aion is completely worthless, not even mediocre, but its nowhere near a game which can capture millions of people, except for maybe in Asia because they seem to like dull/linear/non-innovative grind MMO's. If you're basically going to offer the same features as every other MMO on the market, make sure everything in the game is fantastically well made. This is not the case for Aion!
Wings are cool...what else? hm....

You are also basically saying that any other game (which is pretty much every game including WoW which pretty much stole concepts from Warhammer and then also used aspects of other pre-existing games) has to be fanstastically well made to your personal standards in order to succeed. Cartoony graphics and flying mounts were cool too in their time...what else? hmm? |
