So yeah basically Im looking for a Free 2 play mmorpg that does not have a very steep level grind. Now I don't mean no grind at all I can take something along the lines of WoW or EQ2 level grind, but nothing like Lineage 2 or Sword of the new world. Id like the game to have ok graphics, at least on par with Rappelz or around that quality. It CAN be cell-shade like Florensia but Id much rather it not be.
Basically my main issue is I don't want the game to have a very high steep level grind, which then they use as a primary excuse to sell EXP items on the item mall. Basically most of those games turn out to be, if you don't buy the exp item from item mall, you will almost never reach the level cap, and if you manage to reach it, by the time you have reached it without the exp items, there is a higher level cap comming soon.
So a game that does not play that carrot on a stick formula please :)

I think everyone is looking for this game. I would say the post above me was on point though haha |

D&D online just went f2p and doesn't have a bad lvl grind. They've done a lot to improve combat and questing and I think the game is a lot better than its p2p counter part.

How about this...its fine if its a high level grind, as long as there is TONS to do outside leveling, not just PvP and crafting, Things like long term quests, or unlocking of content, Some what like FFXI. In FFXI you could spend months at a time questing gear, spells, and other stuff that you could use later on or sell. Also in FFXI there was a TON of stuff to do outside grinding and crafting, you could do one of the many storylines, or spend the day doing missions with groups to unlock new areas. Things like this make it so that a game with tons of grind is fine. Because there are tons of options.
So if the game must have a ton of grind, please point me to a F2P game with a ton of options as well. :) |

Don't forget kids, MMOs are a business, not a charity. You are not going to find a retail MMO that isn't designed to make money. I know everyone would love a AAA quality game that you don;t have to pay for, but that's not going to happen. You must choose your poison: Monthly fee gear grinds, Item shop level grinds, or the most toxic of all, the monthly fee with an item shop life get as much money as we can before you realize our game is hollow types.
Enjoy! |

I forgot about D&D apparently they went F2P, but it has a ton of content since release. I might even try it out myself again some time. I was in beta but it was completely linear back then but apparently they drastically opened it up. I second D&D, OP, you should give it a try. I will too haha Some people only talk sh!t online. I am a ex hardcore FFXI player myself, FFXI wouldnt feet the op anyways ,ffxi is a grind game from 1-75 and same with the end game , i still love it tought. For a F2P try RoM, i have tried a lot of F2P and the cash shop etc just killed it for me, RoM is not perfect , it has a lot of flaws , but for a F2P is damn good, or maybe the best f2p outthere IMO. RoM does have cash shop, but the diamonds you buy with real cash can be bought in game in the auctions with game gold, expensive , but its still an option if you whanna be leet after 55 without expending a dollar. The questing and such is WoW like but with a lot more parting involved.Game forces you to party with others a lot, but you can still solo your way to lv cap np. Anyways think is a good time to try it out with the new classes and areas coming out , hope you like it.

Mabinogi if you can get past that type of graphics. Level grind is very low since you can rebirth every 3 weeks and there's plenty of things to do to keep you busy. ---------------------------- |

I have herd a lot of good things about Mabinogi. Ill download it once I get off work tonight.
Also I decided to download RoM due to the new Expansion due out on Tuesday.
D&DO I have already played, before It was F2P actually back in 2004 and again in 2006. I didn't really like the game nether time. The world is very instanced so are missions. It felt like Phantasy star universe with a better mission system. |
