No, they don't have to. Not all MMORPG have grind,ie. EVE has no grind unless you want/allow one. They do because it makes the game more accessible. Also if the game got grind, there should be something worthy to me to compensate grinding. |

I voted "yes" because as a former Tabula Rasa subscriber I get the betas, CE pre-order bonuses, head start and the first 30-days free. If by then I'm still not impressed enough with Aion I will stop playing... ------------------------- |

Nah. Just not enough to keep me interested. First 20 levels are like a poor mans WoW. There were times when it felt like work leveling and I'm not interested in that type of game. Perhaps I'll revisit in 6 months. |

No, but it has nothing to do with the game; it's just a time factor for me. This sword here at my side dont act the way it should |

I will. I already got the CE on preorder. It's a decent game - not perfect, but good. My plan is to play it until GW 2 or Star Wars:TOR. After that we'll see. Since I didn't get to the PvP areas yet, I admit that it may really grow on me. |

I will give it a fair shot, we'll see if it survives the first month.

I voted No becuase the art style did not appeal to me, its basic gameplay is sound and I am sure that will do ok overall. |

No. I took a chance and pre-ordered via Steam. I played though the open betas. This game no longer interests me. My 2 cents (and answering the question). |

And You are grinding time (I know that one doesnt count but hehe, it takes forever to get anywhere. though I am not complain about it, still love eve. If I am not playing good rpg mmo i am playing that.) but anyway there is always grinding, if its quests, mobs, mats... there is always grinding. playing:Aion, shot online. |

I probably won't sub to Aion. No insult intended but personally it's not my style, and professionally it's not all that relevant to my work. Lately, I've been goofing round in DDO and liking it.

I'll be console gaming with games such as Borderlands, Dragon Age and Left 4 Dead 2 instead. Also Torchlight for the pc is on the agenda. So much better rpgs and fps games to play rather than pay a monthly fee for mmos right now. |

I have preordered and will give it a fair chance. I doubt it will last for more than the free month, but it's always fun to play around with "new toys". Although it's quite a polished and well thought through product, I don't see why I would play it over wow. I must admit that the PvPvE component does interest me slightly. |

Its been up for a year now... the beta was more to set up the servers for eurpope and usa and get them tweeked so they can runs smoothly for release of the two continants.. not really for gameplay, though they do need still work out game play and such, when the translate it for another country, ect... but that wasn't the main reason for beta playing:Aion, shot online. |

^ My feelings exactly. I've got to 25 in the CB and I'm not even close to that during this quasi-OB event. When I did get to 25 there were so few others at that level that the main abyss HQ for my character's race had only a few (literally 3 to 5 max) other players, and at times it was only me. This is probably due in part to the fact that the beta closed not long after I hit 25. Thus my experience with the abyss is basically nothing, and I'm very curious to see what experience/s it will bring. The PvE content is identical in experience to what you can find any any other MMO that is currently available, either free or subscription based. There's less of a grind (that is to say that it doesn't take forever to level), it's not broken & it's written well so in this regard it's nicely polished, but there's absolutely nothing new here. Aion depends entirely on its end-game, and we'll see how that goes. _____ |

I just did the open beta for it, and I wont be buying it. If you liked LOTRO and also like to PVP then you will love this game. For me, I hate PVP and love the PVE aspects of MMO's. Most MMO's coming out now are leaning towards the PVP side of them, just like Aion. It is also heavy dependent on grouping. After you level up to your teens you can't solo anything. Plus it has what is called the "Campaign" quests which is like the book quests that you have to do in LOTRO. I'm not big in "having" to do any chain of quests till I hit the max level. Your guild level grows according to your PVPing, so it's impossible for anyone who likes to PVE to have a guild and enjoy the game.

I don't have to and I don't, there are numerous ways how to make ISK and many of them does not involve a grind of any kind. If I am not spending much, I can even buy GTC to pay for EVE. The fact you grind missions means that grind is neccessary for you only. If you need skills to 'get anywhere' it is again your choice only. I have +30M skill points in combat ships on my char and I am flying T1 frigs most of the time...so no, I don't need SP to make ISK and do what enjoy in the game. Fly safe. |

I'd be willing to give a lot of these a try if I could afford another $50 to buy the game. They really ought to consider a tapering subscription fee. I like Aion, but I can't afford it. If they ditched the $50 purchase, and instead charged something like $20 for each of the first 3 months ($15 (no free first month) + $5 + $5 + $5 = $30) and then $17 a month for the next 10 months ($2 x 10 = $20) I know that companies try to make up some of the development costs immediately, but they would probably increase subscriptions if they did it my way. Even if the player only stayed 1-3 months, that's still $20-$30 that they wouldn't have had otherwise I'm just waiting for a F2P overhyped sandbox WoW clone with full PVP, epic raid bosses, instanced group content, and Crysis-quality graphics to come out. That, or something fun. |

Well I agree, but I would prefer if they brought the Chinese subscription model over to the U.S. Aion. From what I understand the Chinese Aion has a pre-paid approach. It works exactly as a pre-paid cell phone sub works. You deposit a certain amount of money and that money equals a certain amount of time. This would be positively ideal for me considering my play style. Hm, but we're probably derailing the thread at this point. ;D _____ |

I will be playing Aion while waiting on games like Blade & Soul, C9, Mabinagi Heroes and mainly Tera. |

Aion is definately the best mmo out there at the moment.
ill be playing until Dragon Age arrives.

I dunno if its true or not but I think they do that because they pay by the hour and not month... Somone said this in a different thread playing:Aion, shot online. |

Yes I will buy and play it at least first free month. Because: 1) it's new areound here, i like everybody learning the classes for the first time and the mechanics in groups. 2) it's a decent game. There are many things I don't like about it, but it's a honest decent game. 3) After playing Aion for just 5 days, going to raid in WoW looks very boring. And believe me I was totally hyped about WoW wotlk raids. |
