I have been playing COH for many years and I absolutely love the game. I am thinking of switching to CO but I need to know is CO much better than COH/COV?

Better then CoH... probably not but its worth trying, it gotta much shorter life span though so guessing youl level to max lvl (40) in 1 perhaps 2 months

try watching some gameplay vids and youl know wether to play or not, its a  "what you see is what you get" game

Would you be able to explain? I was alarmed by what you said. Is CO just a better graphic version of COH/COV?

People are hitting the level cap (lvl 40) witihn a couple weeks.   The game is lacking content badly, especially group content.

 Otherwise its a decent game.

I played CoX for past a year and enjoyed it/

I like this game much more however it is a new game has some issues. Since you alreayd know Cryptic you can guess some of the issues

I love playing the game however and I'm addicted to making alts. But since the content is so lean I find myself repeating the same content over and over when I make alts. The content is spread way too thin

I ponder bout quitting and coming back in a few months to give them chance to add new content sometimes. Fun lil game tho. I'd say maybe try it for a month and see for yourself. It's worth a try for superhero lovers 4 sho

If you liked COH, you know what you are getting.

It's more of the same from the same people. i can't imagine anyone liking one but not the other.

New zones, new powers, new city, same game.

Looks the same, sounds the same, plays the same. 90% identical.

It was rushed to release since Atari set a hard deadline, they said the next content patch will have group content (slated for october?).

CO is okay, but COH is better. I like the OPEN world feel of COH.  In CO, I feel closed in, the zones are much smaller.  CO is still in its infant stage and has alot of work to be done on it.......... I would stick with COH for a while longer until all the patching and balancing and nerfing is finished.......than switch over to CO.

Charater creator is better than COH

Content is lacking in CO

Let me put it this way...... when my 6 mo. subscription is done, unless there are some MAJOR changes for the good of the game, I will not renew my subscription.

Are you sure you aren't mixing the games up? Because Open World is what CO has in comparison with CoX. In CO the zones are way bigger than CoX.

Imo, you should wait for the trials to come out. I've been enjoying it a lot more than I thought I would but that's because it's fairly far removed from both the gameplay and style of other MMO's I've played (WoW, WAR, LOTRO, EQ, high fantasy BS you know the drill.) But also it's playstyle is alot more like an action game, i.e. some skills you charge by holding the spell down (at least for munitions) the longer you hold it the more damage it will do when you release. If you want PVP you may not want to play as it is fairly shallow and some travel powers (which yes can stay active in pvp) are vastly superior to others.

Nope, not mixing them up.  I like the openness of COH. CO's desert and canda scenes make me feel closed inside a forcefield (which it is) and not open enough. Mill City is open but I need more open zones to satisfy me :-)

sorry for double post

Canada and the desert lose the force fields after the crisis zones.... then they are roughly the size of MC.  MI and Lemuria are pretty large too.  Overall COs zones are much larger then CoXs.

If it's at all posible COH is the better of the two in my opinion.

CO is half arsed. They never make a lot of content for their games but CO is notably lighter on it even than CO was.

COH is better value.

CO is better mainly CoH has some fatal flaws that can never fixed: can't increase the level cap because of the way ATs are set up, very hard to design any group content since how broken buffs/debuffs are remember RSF :p, instanced missions, loot (they added IOs but it is not the same) and instancing farming (through ATs etc).

CoH is a 5 year old game. CO is 1 week old, and released with more content than CoH released with.

That's disappointing.

I just finished watching a video someone posted here of their character fighting Foxbat. The gameplay just did not look good at all.

In COH defense, I got the COH first month after it released and I didn't experience any issues at all. At that time, COH did not support PvP. It was a pure PvE game.

CoH was quite stable but the game had very little to offer when it came out: no radio missions, no IOs, you stack SOs. The game hs lot of content problem is no one wants to do anything other than AE farm...

Talking bout CoH feeling more open then CO or vice versa is just weird. Both games are heavily zoned / instanced. Neither game is open. Period.

CO is a blast. Having fun everytime i login, period. Give it a go, judge for yourself. If you have a xbox 360 controller, plug it in - it makes the game so much better!

COH is better value.

When I left CoH we were running the same tiled missions over and over. If you had a concept for a cool hero that did not fit into their rigid Class system then too bad.

for instance, I recall someone wanted to make a hero like 'Last Avatar'. all they wanted was Martial Arts and Fire. You couldn't do this in CoH

In CO, you can easily make a Martial Arts / Fire / Ice(Water) / Earth flight hero.

For the purpose of making a superhero concept CO is miles ahead of CoH

Not to mention CoH was a senseless grind to get to L50. I dont care what anyone says. It was a crazy grind running the same tiled instance over and over searching for a 'blinky'.

PVE was pretty awful there.

In CO, PVE is actually fairly interesting., Problem is there's a shortage of them. Massive shortage. but they are quality and beats CoH by miles.
