I'll be rolling the smallest toon possible for a few reasons: 1. I'm rolling an Assassin. 2. It is harder to notice and target. 3. Your toon fills up less of your screen, you can see more. 4. It's easier to tell if you are behind a target. 5. Other players will have a harder time understanding what class you are by looking at you. With so many reasons why you would go small I don't see a reason to handicap yourself. If you were a tank there might be a reason to go big so you could be a target, the downside is everyone will know you are a tank and try to avoid targetting you. |

Originally posted by vive I created one and all I can say is... uggghhh. It'd be one thing if the developers actually changed the way a smaller toon runs.. hahaha yea thats what gets me going, its how they look when they run ! Thats what looks so bad! Not that size that looks so crazy, its the spider running look... lol |

Now people complain there is to much character customization and say it should be limited. Yeah the speed their legs move when running looks off; however, this cannot really be compared to WoW's Dwarves. That is an entire different race and each race in WoW, I am sure, has it's own animation sets. Aion, on the other hand, we are talking about a single race that can be so customized that you have everything from small people to huge people. To be able to do the separate animation would probably require dividing the race up into sub-races or limiting the character customization which would defeat the purpose of so much customization. Unless they could figure out how to put in some sort of trigger that says when the length reaches x then y animation is attributed to the character. I'm not a programmer, but that may pretty difficult to put into the game. Out of curiosity how does CoX do it? Don't they also have characters that can also range in size like this? Do their small character run with super fast leg animation as well? That would be a good comparison if they don't. My concern falls more into line with what somebody else already stated. Those little guys can be hard to see at times giving them quite an advantage in PvP. Wonder how that is going to play into things in later levels. |

I dont get this, WoW had the shortest race in an MMO which was the gnome, i didnt see a bnch of people going out of their way to roll one of those. What makes the aion midget so special that you people think its a good dia to make your toon look like one?
Anyway, if you think it will bring any kind of advantage you are wrong, most good players tab target anyway. All indications, including all of the NPC characters, show that the humans and Daeva's of this world did not include a tremendous amount of variation to the race on the level of miniatures or giants. I mean don't get me wrong I'm cool with having really short or really tall people mixed in for diversity but come on, let's be realistic. The size allowance should definitely be tweaked. |

Take the alternative.. tabbing through each player, identifying which is targetted and realizing the threat each brings. Add to the fact that the small size makes it much more difficult to identify class and you have an even larger problem. |

Oh, I don't care what gear people wear. They can wear a dress, wooden shoes, and jester's hat and it won't make a difference to me, but people who deliberately make the smallest toon possible at character creation (thinking they are oh-so clever) because they won't be targetted as much in pvp deserve to die first. Yes, those people are *that* annoying. Edit: I fully support the current character customization scheme in Aion (even the ability to make tiny toons). Giving people as many options as possible is great for helping me create unique and interesting looks, which is an excellent feature for any MMO. People who complain that Aion has too many options are morons (imo of course). They can adjust classes all day, but they can't help the issue between the keyboard and the chair. |

On the other hand if you'd make a nice looking small female char with normal proportions you'd probably be happy with her.

Most certainly! My son and I both played DAoC (and still do), and when we weren't playing hib we always looked for lurikeens to hunt. We'll look forward to making you and your son pay for the annoying choice you made in the character creation screen. :) They can adjust classes all day, but they can't help the issue between the keyboard and the chair. |

ya sure, because most of the times luris were casters and they had lower hps because of the way race stats worked in daoc. but they could also be a tank. if you were really good at daoc, you fig out the class fast and acted upon what class was what, not how tiny or small someone was. |

The bottom line is that people who whine about anything and everything dont belong in MMOs. Go play single player games. If it`s not the midgets I`m sure you`ll find something else to bitch about so best is just to gtfo , none wants to hear this moaning.

Roll whatever tf you want you wont hear me complaining about it. Fact is midgets have an edge in PVP and anyone that is serious about PVP will make a midget or at least a semi-midget. The huge max height giant Glads you see runing around will get raped first in PVP batles heh.

How about anyone serious about PvP actually plays the game as it was intended rather than looking to exploit something at every turn. Yeah that's probably a concept you never thought of considering someone really respected in PvP is the one who is the underdog and finds ways around disadvantages and still be successful. |

You can tell me to stfu all you want.. but you just proved the point that the fact you can even make tiny little characters affects gameplay and therefore affects game experience. If a player gets a *bonus* or a *hinderance* because of the way they created their toon in my opinion that's pretty damn stupid to do in an MMO where you play a toon for hours upon hours.
What if I'm a serious PVP player (like I am and have been) but would never make a small toon because it doesn't fit in the game and I find it annoying and stupid? Suddenly my personal preference has put me at a disadvantage and stands to alter my experience. |

Just because they are midgets doesn't mean they need to have their legs move at lighting speed, including that strange sound as if someone is shaking something in some bushes. Let them walk/run like every none-midget character and I am fine with them. ------------------------------------------------------------ |
