Before I begin my list, I will say I like Aion. So far I'd give it a B+. So the subject of leveling has nothing to do with just Aion. There is really no way to make leveling "fun" to people who have months, if not many years experience playing online games. I know I'm not alone. I have read plenty of posts here from people who obviously go way back.

1. Eat Burnt Toast. (I also considered burned macaroni, like when you let the water boil away)

2. Take a chance on the half a doughnut thats been in the break room all day. (or pizza).

3. Chat with another global warming alarmist over certified labor coffee in an eco cup.

4. See a cop coming to my front door.

5. See and in-law coming to the front door.

6. Spend the day reformatting my four computers. (maybe that's good therapy for someone suffering from PISS: post-internet-stress-syndrome).

7. Try eq1 yet again just to see if it really hasn't changed yet.

8. Read yet another post with acronymized or truncated profanity.

9. Group with prople who say noob to each other every 10 seconds.

10. Go dig in my closet and see if I can beat that 1995 game yet.

11. Call Dell support to see how many different countries they can send me to on calls. (India 5, Phillipines 3)

Well i guess wait till someone makes a game were your at max lvl and all you do for fun is pvp ?

I dont mind the quest or the grind AS long as i don't have to see that Area Agin!  One char will be all i do till i max him, that way i don't have to see the starter zone for long time!

Hope you find a game thats worth your time...

Nothing to do with Aion huh? It really looks liek a wow fanboi post beating around the bush which ive seen alot of on just about every mmo site with forums.

If it really isnt then maybe it should have been in the general section of the forums. And you might look into first person shooters.

Warhammer has 3 race zones but guess what it's still boring and no one PvE to level up, most of people just Q for SC or go to Orvr to level up.  I leveled 3 toons in Warhammer and I moved all of them to the same zone to level up because different zone mean I have to spent time on finding quests mobs, items and etc.  Too much work, after first toon to 40, other 2 I just moved them to then first toon zone and repeat the same quests all over again.  So, 3 or even 10 different starting zone like EQ2, don't make it any better IMO.

Like someone else said "Play FFXI will make all other MMO lvling easy" which I agree 100%.

OH, I did the same thing to WOW, too.  I just moved them all to the same place to lvl and did the same quests.  Saved time and I don't have to think, it's not like more quests you do will make you smarter.

Same here. I try and max one guy out to the hilt. Then grinding another guy out again isn't so bad.

Try Jade Dynasty, there is a legal bot system called an "Esper" and you can meditate in town to lvl and avoid the grind. I just get gods gift "double exp + buffs" in the morning before work. get set and grind for 8 hours in invigorate "Esper mode/bot mode". Then I can focus on quests and messing around when I get home.

All MMO's have grinds. If you don't like to Grind then MMO's are not for you.

I won't mind (much) leveling the first toon, it's mainly the thought of any subsequent ones I was thinking of. Leave it to beaver to find a hole in my post, hehe.

My monk had capped guard skill.  There was more monks with fully upgraded relic knuckles h2h weapon, than monks with this capped skill.  Now that was a "grind" compared to even getting 4 jobs to 75.

Whenever I hear crybabies bitch about "grinding" /rolleyes... you can't even scratch the surface to begin to fathom what a REAL grind is.

Your really seem like someone who would insult their own mother. It's a simple, meant to be humorous post. Apparently not your type of humor. My apologies for even existing on the same earth as you.

My apologies for not making it clear enough that It's leveling in general after years that's incredibly boring. It's not that Aion isn't providing something "new" or different. I AM looking forward to finishing the last level and the PVP and endgame stuff, just not leveling itself. I do however like aspects of levelling that introduce lore, cutscenes, etc.

Well, if it's like many "upcoming" titles, I probably will be seeing my grandkids play it since it will take so long.

So how do "crybabies" (presumably anyone who posits a subject one does not like) compare to posters who insist on insulting and slamming other people?
