Yes ncsoft should have added some bulky customizations but I prefer the middle muscular style rather then having my character looking like it has used a dozen of steroids.

What I meant is if you ever played some roleplaying single player on consoles mostly let's name a popular name final fantasy your hero is 95% of the times a normal being, huge muscles are not everything in a fight/game.

You can make them have manly features. However they still have an effeminate idle stance and animations.

I made a character that looked like mr T.....  You are just making effeminate characters, thats the games way of telling you something.

well, first of all, it's probably juts the way you look at it. Asian cultures might look at manliness a different way and not see the feminine where you think you see it.

However, you can make an uber male character if you so desire. let me see what I can come up with.

IT is virtually possible to make any face / body you want to.. are you calling Sean Connery effeminate? :p

Dude.. you can make it effeminate or masculine or alien whatever.. just play with the character creation available options and you will manage it.

Honestly, if you play with the customization enough, you can find a balance.  Idle animations aside, I love the options.

The main character I've played in this beta, though, is the queerest looking thing I could possibly have created, and I made it as a joke the other day while the server I WAS playing on was down.  Some people have negative reactions, but the majority laugh.  It's funny as hell running around, /taunt'ing and watching my character scream "WAH WAH WAH WAH" flailing his arms around like a little girl.  Pull out the pom-poms with a /cheer and the whole thing's complete.  I am a little diappointed that my main in release will share these animations.

Either way, it's good for a laugh.

Well usually i set my hair to a more medium length like my real life hair.Not short yet not long like before it gets to close to my shoulders.Instead make customization more wide for people who want seroid injected freaks,normal people and prissies that would be good for i get alot of choices.

I have an Asian razor shag IRL, and it intimidates the hell out of a lot of other guys because they are homophobes!!!

I can tell which girls like it and which don't, and some don't even care... just by the way they gaze at me, or ignore... etc...

The very definition of "manly" and "feminine" is constantly changing both all over the world as moreso within history. Today we have postmodernism and constructivism where people are more defining themselves than ever before, whereas on past eras people where much more forced to follow the guideline of the time. We have manly men, effeminate men, pretty normal men, whe have ALL kind of men. (And just as a sidenote, trust me: I have seen totally effeminate men who are straight and gay friends who look like Chuck Norris!)

Let everyone just be who he wants to be. Why care?

I don't really think this guy looks effeminate.

Because you are making them that way, that's why.

To make a "manly man" simply choose a rough, older looking face, and then via the advanced options, choose the more pronounced male features.

For instance, Increase the brow size, and nose width some.  Jut out the chin more and make the lips thinner and make the eyes a bit smaller than the norm.  Choose a manly hair style and pair it up with facial hair.  Oh yeah, choose a darker skin tone and be real sure that the lips are the same shade as the skin but a bit darker (no pinks or purples).

Avoid high cheekbones, shaped lips, fine noses, and have the eye angle to the left (opposite of the slanty look), and give your dude a bit of a roman nose by increasing the bridge size (to the right).

Choose the athletic or stocky build options and beef up the sliders if you want a real knuckle dragger.

Or, simply hit the random button until you get something close to what measures up as manly to you and work from there.  It's not rocket science.

What is fascinating, is for all these so called "manly" players out there, how many make their toons pretty, or even female.

Of course, after WoW's idea of male models looking like they are neanderthals with severe disfigurements, I find Aion refreshing in this regards... besides, having pretty angel's wings is not exactly manly anyways, unless you are an archangel and can simply smite down anyone who makes fun of them.  

when I first saw the Kruxena males http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wtXMJFZ8pYA I was like WTF??? But that metallic right arm makes it cool so I don't mind the effeminate males that much after 1 year of playing one.

I know it's off topic kinda :o but it shows you that almost every Korean MMO has a chance of having Shemales (oups) posing as males :o

Its simply the koreans like pretty things even if they look like homosexual bishounen males from a japanese anime.

Don't think he means they look effeminate, but that they act it.  Like all the animation was motion captured by 2-3 women and they put male skin over it.
