Honestly after spending a great deal of time with the Charcater builder I have come to the conclusion that you can not make a male character that dosen't look like he blongs at a Coldplay concert. Why is it so impossible for Asian game devlopers to give us character options that dosen't make our male toons total metrosexual prisses? I mean fighting purple musharooms and sword weilding Teddy Bears is bad enough, but making all the "men" (and I use that term loosely) look like they are ready for a Bromance really is a deal breaker.

I think they're hot.

The muscled ones with facial hair and scars do not look effeminate to me.

It's the result of 50 years of "theres no difference between sexes" indoctrination. I did notice that pumping up the toons size or shape had virtually no effect on looking muscular.

Y'know you could always play Age of Conan =P

Yep some chicks dig girly men, and that's cool I guess....trust me scars and hair really dosen't help when they are standing holding a palm frawn over their heads with their hand on their hip.

You can make a very manly looking man. As much so as any other MMO. You just need to go to the advanced tabs and adjust whatever you want.

It's more a preference thing.  If you mess around with the sliders and get a good enough hair that you like.  You can make them very manly.  Then again it's more a prefernce/opinion than anything.

If you look around, you can find Obama look alikes.  YOU THINK HE DOESN'T LOOK MANLY!  I SLAP THEE! lol

Yep it's tough to play a sword weilding badass, when you twist your ass when you walk and pant like out of breath tea kettle.
 

I think to complete the stereotype NCsoft needs to make all men have these Richard Simmonesque Lispy voice tracks.....that or they could get a clue and actually you know provide choice.

you can make the characters old and grumpy looking as well

On feature that I really like (maybe you missed it) is that for a given face you can choose increasingly older and battered facial features, deeper and deeper wrinkles etc

If you do not modify those options you'll always see the default face that happens to be the youngest one.

Nope I saw those but it all goes out the window when the old grumpy guys juts his ass out and starts twirling his hair while tracing his toe in the sand. That my friend is a creepy thing to behold.

Not everyone likes bulky or barbarian style of heroes I don't like that type of character and never use them.

Yes ncsoft should have added some bulky customizations but I prefer the middle muscular style rather then having my character looking like it has used a dozen of steroids.

Call me gay are whatever you want but not everyone likes staring at their characters to watch their muscles (although that would be the gay part unless female) I just want my character to look normal specially since I hate huge races and very small ones too :P

I dont look like Kratos, Conan, The Hulk or Marcus Fenix and I dont care for my avatar to look like them either. I want an avatar to look how I think I should look. I want an avatar that looks "average" or "normal" so just for a few hours I can believe that someone like me can go on to do great things.

I like my character to look like they injected steroids right into their forhead with a turkey baster.

Right but Diametrically not everyone likes their toon to well...look like a Ass job waiting for a place to happen either, Brian Knox ranted so long about how they really wanted to Westernize the game....and honestly between the forced Metrosexual toons, and the Pokemon Monster choices they just failed so greatly.
