I decided to patch Aion and check out Open Beta. To my surprise, I got a message about not having access to the game and to call Korea Customer Support. I live in Los Angeles, CA - I have never been to Korea nor do I speak Korean. I then logged into my NC account and it says BANNED!
How the heck did I get banned?! This has got to be a mistake. I didn't take a toon past 10 in beta! I e-mailed support, hope they get back to me. I planned on playing this game but if they are just gonna ban people for no reason, I don't want to throw $$$ away.

It's a problem on their end, and they've admitted to having authentication issues. They're working towards fixing it. |

Contact NCSoft's NA support. I'm sure they can provide more of a solution on the matter than the MMORPG forums.
I have a hard time believing that you were banned for absolutly no reason after being able to log in and level to 10. Gameguard may have found something it didn't like. The fact that you were directed to Korea's support center doesn't suprise me. The 'help' function had yet to be translated in closed beta when I tested it.
Either way, give NCSoft a call (takes a long time to respond to their email right now) and I'm sure they can reinstate accounts. Maybe they can also tell you why the account was banned and how to avoid it in the future. I clearly stated I already contacted support. I was looking to see if others had the same problem here. I doubt their software found anything it didn't like, I wouldn't have anything like that on my rig. I gain nothing by "lying" about not doing anything wrong. Point is, I didn't - haven't, never would. k? Thanks. The Adventures of Fat Gamer - http://www.mmorpg.com/blogs/FatGamer |

Honestly, gameguard isn't smart enough to detect any hacks for this game so even if you were hacking it wouldn't have caught you :P.
Now I believe you because I had the same problem :) ![]() |

Actually, Fat. They did update their accounts for the OB, and they said at one point that you had to go into your account and update your password and stuff (maybe change it and change back?), and that might do it, as was said in another thread about this by some mod on the official forum. |

Ok, figured I'd give out that suggestion. I got the email myself but never actually had to change my password or anything for some reason, so I wondered if that was ever really a problem or not. |

Alright. All fixed. Apparently, amazon.com reported I cancelled my pre-order to the game (when I did not) so they blocked the account due to that reason. They were easy to work with and did not require me to prove it, though it would have been no issue as it's sitting in my orders. All good now. Cheers! With all due respect, if a game directs a guy from LA to call Korean support, I don't have much faith in contacting any support anywhere. Also, there are games that will pre-emptively ban without revealing reason, as a matter of policy. Maybe they should call if Gamegestapo. |
