Razer Naga MMOG Gaming Mouse.

I guess Razer are hitting back at the Steelseries WoW MMO mouse recently released.

Seeing how the number buttons are positioned, i can not imagine that will be good for your thumb when playing MMO's for several hours a day/week.

Actually the thumb is the best digit for these buttons.

The ring finger and the pinkie are not used to pressing buttons, more so in the heat of the game.

And of course, the index and middle fingers are for the generic mouse 1 and mouse 2 buttons.

The buttons look like they are too far back, you are really going to need to bend your thumb for some of them. On top of that, I forsee a lot of people pressing the wrong ones, because there is not an easy indicator of which key your thumb is on unless you are looking at them. I will stick with the Saitek Cyborg Mouse. Easy to know what you are pressing, and you effectively have 11 buttons for the thumb, just one shy of the Razer Naga. Plus, you can operate 8 of those buttons without moving your thumb from a single hat switch. 9 if you rock your thumb to hit the "wing" button.

Having bought the regurgitated ball of salvaged toaster parts (aka, "Mamba"), I am severely hesitant to give Razer another shot. That one cost me quite a bit of money, time, and toil.

No complaints about my Lycosa keyboard, though.

MMO gaming mouse is kind of pointless unless you make alot of deals.  It seems using gameguard or hackshield is becoming more common practice.  If the game does there is a good chance the functionality in the mouse is lost if the mouse is even supported.

I am curious about what you meant with your first sentence. What do you mean a lot of deals?

Anyway, as I said, I use a Crybog Mouse, and have never had functionality problems in any game, and my wife uses a Razer Deathadder, and had a Copperhead, and neither one of those had any problems with functionality either.

If a game is using Hackshield of Gameguard, the manufacturer or the player is going to have to convince the host to allow it as a legal input device aswell as its accompaning software.  Or they could try directly with software developers of Hackshield and Gameguard.  This is usally a problem with any macro device.  Saitek makes its software easy to work with and I think they already made a deal with both those companies.  Not sure if Razor has.

Not for me, mouses are so slow. I uses a Logitech trackman instead, it improves my speed and stop me from getting mousearm when I play a long time.

OMG i'm in love.  A razer with macros?  Now PLEASE SOMEONE MAKE A FLIPPING ERGONOMIC Keyboard with LCD Display and Macro function @.@.

And I want the Macro Function to be Hardwired into the device.  Not software interface.  That way GG won't see it any differently than a normal keyboard.

Well i haddn't looked at the Razer site for a long time, not since their lack of good drivers for the AC-1 soundcard.

That looks an interesting mouse, almost impressive, always thought I could use afew extra buttons on the site of the mouse, BUT that many?

Kind of seems alittle crowded, It would however be interesting too try it , however I desided after having to retire my AC-1 after just 1 year never to buy Razer again.

Some of the logitech mice look nice, although reading mixed reviews about the Logitech G9 Gaming-Grade Laser Mouse .

That is not a good mouse, those smallish 1-12 keys could never better than using a keyboard.Heck i could use my keyboard almost in the dark.

If they actually claimed to cal la mouse a WOW mouse, that is a lame approach to cashing in on a large game.

BTW i own a Razer mouse ,and there is no big deal about them, the on fly settings were cool at first but i never use them now.I f i had my way i would still be using an old 3 button mouse by Logitech called the gaming mouse. It was wide and comfortable to hold and use.If you notice ALL the newer mice are SKINNY,your hand is actually in a cramped position when using them, not an ergonomic design by any stretch.

The gaming mice are not trying to replace keyboards, they are just giving extra functionality to your mouse hand, as it does very little compared to the keyboard hand. However, 12 buttons on the side is way overkill, since i just don't think it is feasible to use all 12 with the thumb.

Also, not ALL the newer mice are skinny. As a matter of fact, a good chunk of them arent. The Cyborg Mouse, as well as several of the logitechs are actually fairly wide.

Nice, thanks for sharing the link.

While Logitech is cutting back on buttons (think 1st gen G15 compared to 2nd gen G15 and G19), Razor is giving us more.

Kudos to Razor. I'm very happy with my 2nd gen G9 mouse, but now I know where to turn if I really need some macro power from my mouse. :)

As I said in an earlier post, the Saitek Cyborg Mouse is superior to the Razor mouse. The Razor boasts a few extra buttons, but most of them on the Razor mouse are too difficult to use/identify with the thumb. The Cyborg mouse has a hat switch, which means you can have 8 different macros accessible without removing the thumb from a single button. They are easy to manipulate, and you can't confuse the keys. Add the three other keys near the thumb, and you have one 1 less thumb button than the Razor, but a much more user friendly setup. Also, you just can beat the "cool" factor of the Saitek Cyborg Mouses motor driven expansion capabilities. :p

Only problem with that is that I hate Saitek and Saitek products. :-p  lol. I'd trust Razor for better quality products than Saitek.

Meh. I have not had any problems with mine, and I think that the Saitek macro programming software is MUCH better, although a bit less user friendly, than the Razor software. In the end though, the fact that I can actually manage to easily and comfortabily use all my mouse buttons, versus the Razor Naga where you cannot reach many without one serious thumb bend (look how far back they go... That is palm territory almost...) means that I will stick with the Cyborg until someone else developes something better. :P Really though, any new gaming mouse should use a hat switch rather than button grid.
