Hello

I read that tomorrow DDO will be free to play and I have always wanted to try it.However I do have a few questions

1.Is DDO multiplayer or single player? How many players per server?

2.Is DDO having a story or something?

3.Is it a grind MMO?

Thanks

DDO is a MMO but heavily instanced similar to Guild wars. The servers can hold thousands of players but only the main city have public places which will be divided into several instances if there are many people around (like zones in AoC)

2.Is DDO having a story or something?

There is no epic story like in LotrO or AoC but there are alot of longer campains with som good stories.

3.Is it a grind MMO?

DOO is all about dungeon crawling with other people, so its not a mob grinding game but it can become a quest/dungeon grinder. But if you just want to level you can just run instances/raids to get to the cap.

Thanks

So DDO is for me a grouping heavy dungeon crawler and is very different from other MMOs, the dungeons are not like anything you have seen in other MMOs and are full of traps. puzzles and scripted events  . Fast "twitch" combat and unlimited character custimization are also the strong points of DDO. The downside is that there is not much else to do in the game than running quests which can be boring when you are waiting for a group to form. The hard learning curve and difficult to solo may also turn alot of people away.

If WoW = The Beatles
and WAR = Led Zeppelin
Then LotrO = Pink Floyd
