So far all ive been reading on the forums is people whining and bitching about the lag issues.  People are ranting and saying that they will cancel their preorder and not play this game.  To that I say:

Thank god!

Do we really want these kind of people spamming chat on release about how bad the game is and the general douchebaggery found from the immature crowd?  It also probably means that all the people who play WoW and are used to a near flawless MMO experience won't be annoying the crap out of me.  This IS a beta and I hope that the lag issues are being looked at and fixed.  The actual gameplay is very good and seems like this game could be something great.  So I say good ridance to the trash that are complaining non-stop about lag and I won't miss you come Sept. 20.

Actually....well said. I should stop trying to make sense of it to people. I'm glad they had this lag so they are more prepared to fix it in the future. However it could have been better if there were no beta keys and more servers. That way they'd be even more prepared. The only things I haven't liked about the game so far are....

1. Gathering Aether with flight time. (not really a bad part about the game, just kind of gets annoying to have to fly back down to rest. In eltnen ill normally just fight mobs while waiting.

2. The fact that there's not a flight path in Tolbias Village lol. (def can be overlooked)

And that's all that comes to mind right now.

I'm pretty sure the Lag and GG issues will be fixed after a few weeks, that's why I didn't mention those.

I find the narrowness of your opinion refreshing.

I am very happy with Aion, it keeps all the attention away from the problems with FE.

I would be less concerned if I was somehow assured that the GG issue I'm having at the moment (boots me out of the game claiming an "illegal program", no issues during CB) would be resolved before launch.

I actually agree with you guys.

The people who argue about the lag and whatever will leave due to lack of patience and that just means less idiots in the game at release.

I heard something about WoW having the same problem when it first came out...except that was after official release and not during a beta...Hmmmm.

And I hope everyone who says WoW is better goes back to WoW....and leaves us alone.

Basically if you're unhappy....and can't grasp the fact that this is a Beta...go back to WoW and leave us alone...get your money back...do whatever it takes to go away.

This is but a brief parting.

I'm happy.  Been in all of the betas and i've had a blast.  As for the whiners who feel the need to trash the game whenever they have the chance?  I'm glad that I won't have to deal with them while playing.

For me, the gates will open.

I'm loving the game, its very well done mechanics and everything fit for me.

although there is one thing.

When your in a group, and you find a quest item, you have to confirm every time you pick the item up, anyone know how to turn that off?

If not I really hope someone emo quits and flames the boards about how the game is epic fail cause of that, I think that would make my day.

With all due respect, this is no newbie company putting out a new concept game. This company has alot under their belt. To say that your glad there is lag so they can be better prepared in the future is letting them off lightly to say the least.

People assumedly paid money for their Game, and that and a free forum allows them any latitude they want to complain. I compliment you on your other points.

I'm, perhaps not 'happy' with Aion, but at least content. 'Been trying out some classes solo (1-11 level), and that part of the game make me feel EXACTLY like playing the PC game Nox waaaay back in time. The two worlds are so reminiscent of eachother (for me) it's eerie. What I mean is that so far, it is kindof a nice single player RPG.

Though, I can see some potential in the classes, grouping and the pvpve coming up later in the game.

Playing: Fallen Earth, Aion
Retired: WoW, AoC, LOTRO, Requiem.
Prospects:FFXIV, C9, TERA.

Sir, many a game has had naysayers and those who complained alot about almost every aspect, right or wrong. Then again, may games deserve the ranking they get. All seem to get away with some crud, like Wo_'s (censored) "extended" maintenence days. I guess my point is that there may seem to be alot of complainers, but if they were all to suddenly go "poof" as you may like, how many would be left on a continuing basis? As long as MMO's have been around, and this company not excluded, I think peoples criticisms are generally well founded.

No one paid a single cent to play in the BETA. The BETA is for testing, and the 5$ you put down at Gamestop goes TOWARDS THE PRICE OF THE GAME. It is a Pre-Order not a "try out this game!". Access to Beta allows you to TEST THE GAME. Post your experiences in the beta forums where they belong.

Really don't count on a few threads on this site to represent some large collective ideal.

Most people who like Aion aren't sitting here posting how great it is, they're actually playing it.

Those who don't obviously jump on the forums to bash the game, cause it ain't their cup of tea, or heaven forbid theirs lag in a beta.

I'm loving it, reminds me of DAoC, I won't seriously start playing the game however until official release, since characters are gonna be wiped in beta anyhow.

I broke down and got a FP key myself.  TBH I'm quite happy with what little I've seen, given I entered with little to no expectations whatsoever, and already knew of the insane lag etc. before even logging in.

That said, my biggest complaints so far are the 30 second NCSoft black screen that I have to stare at on each attempt to log in, followed by the client locking up when I use the tab key to move from the "Name" to "Password" field, rather than clicking on it.  It's hard to break a habit of typing your name/PW and tabbing between the two, and unfortunately this causes the game to stop functioning, requiring a tab-out shutdown of the game, and another 30-60s wait for the game to clear up from memory, the 30s NCSoft splash, and the next shot at ... you get the point.

Other than that, the game's much smoother and nicer looking than I even expected.  Screenshots and videos I've seen thus far haven't done it justice - it's one of those cases where seeing it really matters.  Animations are fluid, and combat looks decently paced, when mobs don't go from full HP to dead instantly through a lag spike.  In all, I'm actually excited to see how things play out once the server issues are resolved.

I'm surprised, mostly because I heard of Aion initially years ago, and its hype in my eyes has been all but way overdone.  But, being between games, I'm giving it a fair shot and am pleasently surprised so far.  Once the lag clears, I can see this filling my spare time for the rest of the week.  I do wish people IN-GAME would STFU about WoW, though.  Not sure what's worse - them or the lag whiners.

No i think you misunderstood me.  I myself was trying to register on the NCsoft forums to see what had been posted about the lag and post something about it.  We need to be blowing the whistle and telling NCsoft about the problems we have found.  But there is a difference between telling the devs and people in charge that there is really bad lag atm and non-stop complaining and bitching and whining about how shitty a game it is because they arent getting to play this game right now.

Um, this is a general discussion forum, and their comments do relate to the subject of the thread, so their posts are just fine, as far as I'm concerned.

Nobody would preorder these things if they didn't get beta access. What's the point other than that? I agree that they aren't losing any money if they buy the game, but a lot of people only preorder to test, and have no intentions of actually buying the game if they don't like it.

Having said that, I guess that's the chance you take when you pay the preorder to try a beta. Sometimes it doesn't go well. You're entitled to access, but not to perfection, although I'm sure ncsoft is trying. I pay for a Fileplanet subscription so I can test games as they come out (not specifically this one). I pay for the opportunity to play. It doesn't entitle me to anything.

Aion is a cool game, that's having some issues during the stress test/OB/preview/whatever. I don't like the lag. I think the poor performance in OB will cause less loss of potential subscribers than the CO issues did, though. Generally, people seem a lot more enthusiastic over this one.

I'm just waiting for a F2P overhyped sandbox WoW clone with full PVP, epic raid bosses, instanced group content, and Crysis-quality graphics to come out. That, or something fun.
