SOOOOO, I thought you where joking, but I see that you are serious, which is very sad, but hey, ignorance is BLISS. If you are worried about GG, then I would disconnect your comp from the net. Most comps are attacked 30+ times a night, hence the reason for a AV and firewall(hardware) to always be up. GG doesnt make your comp more or less violable. |

.... I just can't.... the stupidity...
sigh
P.s: I personally don't like gameguard, however i do like Aion... like it or not, gameguard is what Aion uses. If it does have a rootkit or w/e NCsoft will change it. |

Installing GG by its very nature pretty much nulls your av so whats your point? The last sentence is simply false and untrue. I'm not saying use it or not (personally I would die before opening up my machine like that, even hacked GG is a massive security risk), but people should be aware of what they are actually installing. How many game companies actually use GG, how many of them are Korean? Cheap pre-packaged solutions that don't actually work and have potentially bad side effects ----- |

(first magnetising your harddrives ofcourse, to erase all sensitive data). Because the moment you hook up on the internet you are intruded from all directions. And there is nothing stopping it. Gameguard is a saint piece of software compaired to the Internet Browers, google, Microsoft themselves and what not. So please. Spare me all the paranoia about GG! It's getting more and more pathetic now. |

If you have had a positive experience then good for you, but please don't be so pathetic as to deny that others do have problems with the software. |

Let it be said that NCSoft has a commercial interest in denying problems with GG. "" Voice acting isn't an RPG element....it's just a production value." - grumpymel2 |

Dont understand the issue here as when your playing AION you arnt surfing Free porn sites or downloading piratebay torrents ... so you wouldnt acquire any viruses anyways and if anyone tried to connect to your computer Vista tells you anyways.... So whats the issue? "Sometimes people say stuff they don''t mean, but more often then that they don''t say things they do mean" |

I don't randomly tell people what to put on their systems. But if they make a post, are they talking to themselves? If I go to the maximumpc forums and tell someone I'm building a computer and I get critiques for or against what I plan to put in my system, you wont see someone come and say "Who are you to tell him what to put in his system!!" And regardless of what people tell the poster, he will make a decision. |

GameGuard is 100% safe. It's annoying as hell though. Playing: Star Wars: The Old Republic Waiting For: Guild Wars 2, sort of. |

I'm quite interested in all of this but would like to know more about the facts of GG and it's "Nefarious" techniques, your post didn't contain any facts for me to check up on, please could you list them as I'm genuinely interested in knowing about what GG actually does and who it's misused by these gaming companies.
